Found some of those walking through a park and thought they looked so interesting like they were frosted or made of cobwebs or something very ghost like

I think they grow in my vegetable garden. I always see them as the mature ones…sometimes the caps touch the vegetable leaf and leaves a sticky black smear. Is it safe to just wash the vegetable leaf before consuming?

Yes .

Sort of! The ink washes right off. In culinary, they use the ink as a vegan replacement for squid ink! Although, I recently learned that consuming alcohol up to 3 days before or up to three days after can cause the ink to be poisonous to you 😮. So my bit of advice would be careful if you like your adult drinks, and don't touch it, or wear gloves 😊
