@@user-ul4lf3zh8z It invokes the thought that the Bene Gesserit stride in response to the beat of the march when it's quite the opposite in-universe; the sisters' influence within the Imperium is arguably unmatched. In that sense, it is in fact the footsteps of the Bene Gesserit that sets the chants of the crowd - all for Feyd-Rautha; the would-be Harkonnen father of the supposed-to-be Kwisatz Haderach. Harkonnen snack: some kind of ratbug trapped in a glass cube that gets crushed by pushing down a straw, which you then suck the blood through (from the Lynch flick)
@meonier8 ай бұрын
A linguistic detail that blew my mind when I realized it: the line starting at 0:22 that translates to "His presence, watching over a spectacle of blood and honor" ends with 0:27 "KOON .. ANAH", which presumably corresponds to "blood and honor" ("ANAH" even sounds a bit like "honor"). This means that "KOON" translates to "blood". So at 0:43 the crowd's chant "KOON KOON..." is literally a chant celebrating blood. Crazy.
@gorg29458 ай бұрын
I also noticed that in the opening speech the announcer uses the word Giedi in the line "under our glorious black sun" riiight about where the words Black sun should be, so Giedi prime might translate directly to "Black Sun Prime"

Another observation is that the Harkonnen language skips over the second last consonant of words, like Vladi_ir Harkoo__n, and they repeat it with the vowel preceding where the second last consonant was In Russian the word for blood is кровь (krov’), which can be transcribed as koov’, and a little bit of corruption makes it koon. This is what I imagine the chants and musical theme for a Dark Eldar champion in a organized Commorragh colosseum would be like. A Drukhari who has arisen through the ranks and hierarchy of the colosseums of Commorragh since a young age becoming a rising legend of renown amongst even by the ruthless wych cults standards slaying beasts, chaos warriors, Drukhari Archons, and more giving his opponents the chance to use some of their weapons and equipment and know he's come for them in the arena's clearing. His handlers and Arena backers organizing a special event for hundreds of millions of Dark Eldar in the city and gaining the attention of legendary Drukhari of Commorragh to see. The Arena's clearing having unique set ups for each match to be more engaging and interesting for the audience to view. With the Dark Eldar Champion at the end after killing some restrain Psykers, monsters, Catachan Jungle fighters, gets to show himself fighting a few captured Astartes with the added bonus of a Chapter Master allowed their powered swords to fight. Certainly a duel such as that in Commorragh would gain the attention of the greatest Cabals and warriors to recognize the champion's talents and skills to be remembered. If the Arena event could include one Custodes perhaps that would gain enough merit alone though it would be pushing it alot for even a great Drukhari champion with the prepared advantages set, proper combat experiences and knowledge, endurance, durable armor and body, and mental processing to keep up.

You along with your fellow brothers and respected chapter master get to face our high esteem legendary champion with your equiped power swords and ceramite chest armor at his personal requests. We hope your squad of Astartes will last longer and bring a more interesting even struggle then that whole platoon of Catachan Jungle fighters did against him. They were tenacious and skilled but they were not strong enough. The last group of Astartes we brought in were Night Lords, and they didn't live up to their reputation. All they did was flee cowardly and scream in agony trying to vainly escape when they realized they could not wound him. Much to his disappointment and vindictive wrath. Don't disappoint our Champion Astartes. You are loyalists to the Emperor so hopefully you will perform better then your traitorous cousins did and he oddly respects that more then we would."

Seeing this on the IMAX after the movie premiered, I had eaten too much popcorn and drank too much iced tea before this scene. The theater was vibrating so much from the booming noises of the arena that it shook my stomach to the point i was feeling nauseous throughout the whole chanting, the explosions of the fireworks, and the screaming from the crowd. But because of that, this was one, if not, the best scene in the entire movie to me. You really had the feeling you were actually in the stands watching the fight. I felt sick to my stomach but it was totally worth it!
