I have the same (for the same reason) and immediately changed the strings to Flatwound 11-50. I also changed the tuners to Gotoh! Great quality guitar for the money!

My personal opinion is that on clean mode, it didn't change the trebles a lot, but it did soften the bass notes, especially on the neck pick-up. On drive mode, though, I think it did change the trebles the way you wanted them to change (less agressive). I think that with that set of strings, if you adjust the tone knob of the bridge pick-up, you might get closer to the sound you are seeking. Your video is particularly interesting to me, as I just got a HB35+ a few days ago and began to think of switching to a plate wound set (lighter than yours) for the same reason, because just like you I'm not a jazz player but I do like the jazz guitar sound. BTW, I appreciate the feeling you put in your solos on the backtrack, and the fact that their rhythm was in harmony with the overall rhythm : congratulations. It was not a technical demonstration, it was playing music, and that's quite nice for the listener's ears 👍

I definitely like the overall tone of the original strings by far. I like flat wound strings on my bass. I have two Harley Benton 35+ guitars. Whether the jazz sound is improved or not is at best marginal, but the overall incredible tone you had with the original strings makes it a bad trade off. Thank you for sharing this. Nice presentation.

But of course there are many jazz tones. I have been listening to Larry Coryell's 'Electric' cd lately. His tone on that one is all neck pickup humbucker, but it's actually quite bright. But he's playing a Super 400 (through a Deluxe Reverb), so of course that is going to sound fat no matter what. Amazing tone on that cd. I don't know what kind of strings he's using. My guess is regular round wound strings.

nekem is ilyen hb35ösöm van. egyik videódba említetted, hogy 11es húr az ilyen rövidmenzúrásokon jobb. kipróbáltam és tényleg nagyon pöpec így :) köszi a tippet! Jól értettem, hogy hangszedőket is cseréltél? Ha igen mik vannak most benne?

Szia! Igen. A kényelmes megoldás a 10-es de a fasza hang a 11-estől jön meg.

Hello, if you set the tone pot to 5 you will get closer to your jazz. Set the amp so Mids 6-8.

hát, nemtom, 7800 forintért vékonyabb hangja lett, pedig elvileg még vastagabb is, ha érzetre jó, az egy dolog, de hangra szerintem semmivel nem lett jobb, meg humbuckertől zsíros, telt hangot akarok, nem sztratós ciccegést.

Nem mondanám vékonyabbnak a hangot. A felső tartomány teljesen más és a játékérzet is. Igazából meg kell tanulni vele máshogy játszani. Ma már másként szólaltatom meg, dinamikusabb pengetéssel. Biztos készítek még felvételt vele később, akkor ez ki fog jönni majd. De köszönöm az észrevételt, megfülelem azért majd a napokban. Ha nem laksz miskolctól messze gyere el kipróbálni. Szívesen látlak.

@@Ongabass igen, közben ujranéztem, az zavart meg, hogy elsőre ujjal szólaltatod meg, és csak utána használsz pengetőt, ha 2:20-perctől nézem, ahol előveszed a pengetőt, más a dolog, a flatwound string sokkal tisztábban szól.Én csak hobbiból játszok, és nem annyira szeretem a pengetőt, szóval nekem az lenne érdekes, ez a lapos húr mennyivel jobb ujjal pengetve?

@@kismiska99 ahhoz szerintem nem jobb. Mert pengetővel szerintem határozottabb a hang indulása, és a flatwound ezt rontja kicsit. Ha ujjal pengetsz az meg egy lassabb hangindulás és a kettő együtt szerintem rosszabb mint egy hagyományosan tekercselt húr. Itt még az is belejátszik, hogy vastagabbat tettem rá. A helyedben maradnék a normál húrnál, olcsóbb is, meg jobban kiszolgálja a stílusodat. Remélem érthetően fogalmaztam.
