I am so thankful for this video. I have played guitar on and of for 7 years (lessons for 3 years) and piano on and off (lessons for 10 years) for 11 years. I have been thinking a lot of buying a banjo because it is cool but I was very insecure because once I bought a violin (cheapest I could find) and never learned how to play (I tried for about a year, not practising every day). Also, I do not have a lot of time to play. I just bought a Hearley Benton HBJ-25 out of inpulse and was like "what if it is a bad buy if I actually learn to play" but this video calmed me down.

Thankyou for the comment. This is exactly why I did the video. You sound super talented to be able to play all those instruments. The HBJ 25 is still my go to banjo. An playing guitar and Piano will really help you learning and playing Banjo. I hope you enjoy it.

atleast you're not the guy who wanted to learn banjo and went and purchased a 6 string banjo

This is hilarious and I don't even know why. But honestly if you're playing banjo, it's got to have 5 strings. IMO.

Hey dude! Thanks for this review! I wanted to ask you some things because I'm planning to buy it! Do you think it's more and less the same louder as a banjo with flange and tone ring? did you have the possibility to make the comparison? what about the playability? some buzzings there? thanks man for take the time to make this useful video!

And i forgot to ask! what about the sound with the resonator attached? thanks pal!

Hey thanks for the comments. Sorry for the delay in replying. The Banjo is a little quieter than one with a tone ring/ flange. But with a resonator it's just as loud in my experience. The sound with the resonator isn't my favourite, but mainly because of my style of play. It's fine sounding, but nothing special with it on. Playability is great. If it's your first banjo, you may need to adjust to the string distance. But overall it's great for the price. To be honest, the only buzzing I notice is from the arm rest. But I don't notice it all that much. I hope all that helps.

Sorry for the late reply. It was a cheap action cam. So it really shouldn't be that good. I think I was sitting a fair distance away too, to help with the high frequencies.

It's pronounced like Thomas... The 'h' is silent sounds like 'toe-man'

Thanks for the heads up. I'd recently just found that out from someone else. But I appreciate the correction.

@@NeurodivergentInDerby glad I could help. Absolutely great Banjo for a beginner and moving into more advanced playing, on my opinion. Let me know how you get on, an feel free to ask for any help, though there are plenty of better people on KZbin.
