I'm a fan of Harley Benton and although I have two 6 string guitars,a Resonator and a BigTrem, I think it's almost time to get a new bass guitar again and I want a 5 string. Love your channel.😊

The JB-75 series are THE bomb of Harley Benton passive jazz basses,......with that American ash body, 'D' profile neck, Roswell alnico 5 pickups, Wilkinson bridge with brass saddles,......those basses are soild. Literally, a boat anchor, but built like a tank. I have the natural finish and have the all-black, with maple neck and black block inlays on order and I can not wait for it soon enough.

I have had this exact bass (for close to a year) and really like it. It has great sounding low B string, the electronics and hardware are solid too. Also, not mentioned, is it is surprisingly light in weight. The only minor flaws I noticed are with the bridge when changing strings and intonating it, the E string bridge saddle on mine is kind of wonky and stripped out. Nothing I couldn't work around though. The pickups are noisy when soloed but I usually just leave the blend centered and then it is dead quiet. The tone (to me) is kind of trebly with everything centered but the stacked bass/treble boost/cut knobs and preamp do a good job at shaping the tone to your liking. Anyways, I always wanted a 5 string active jazz to add to the stable and this one does that great! I do gig with it frequently too and no issues so far.

Used to have their MB5....Musicman replica. After dropping the stock pup for an Aguilar, i liked it. Passive too. ONLY reason i let it go was cause the string spacing from the nut to the bridge was too tight. Barely 16mm. My other two basses are 19mm.

Thomann shipping costs to America are a bit steep. Recommend buying more than 1 item or split the cost with another purchaser.

True that Dalia! If you are looking for other Harley Benton recommendations, check out their JB-40FL fretless and/or the new short scale mustang(ish) bass!

I would love to send you and Low End Lobster some of my bass builds (kit bash bastards actually) - I always build in pairs, one to play, one for backup. They're all varying degrees of ugly to not-so-ugly, but they're my babies. A pile of OLP fretless five conversions, a couple Jazz fives, and some restored Ibanez Roadstar fives. We'll leave the Steinbergers out cause I know you hate those, lol

thanks and yeah i do.... hate those

Hey there, if you recall, do you think the bass on a strap wears more like a jazz bass or precision bass on the length of the neck feel? I am short and can only play things that wear more like a p bass.
