Great idea, and I was all in on ordering a kit. Until the shipping doubled the price. If you can get this kit shipped for around $100 it’s probably a load of fun. Don't worry about it, take a 220 grit sandpaper and sand the fret ends and the neck and even fretboard. Just always go with the grain, you won't hurt anything. Start at 220 work your way down to 2000 grit. I do all my guitar. When I crown and relevel I sand everything the whole fret board the frets. Never have a problem. Necks are hardwood, you won't dig into them with finer grit paper.

Amazing video, Looks are subjective but I would go for a sparkle metallic finish with a matching headstock. From a purely practical point of view, if you are going for a vibrato system, I think you can get away with a cheap but quality Bigsby, roller saddles, and locking tuners. The split shaft tuners on American Performer or the tuners on the new Squier Affinity could also fit with no extra hassle but I could not find those for sale anywhere!
@arnarhreiarsson1502 жыл бұрын
I did this kit a couple of years ago and around that time I had a Squier Strat with that '70's headstock. I really like that shape but once I had downloaded and printed out a stencil, I found out the HB headstock is too small for that cut. So I did a traditional Fender headstock. I painted mine in a surf-green kind of color (this is a surf guitar:). I had to file down the fret ends and a few months later I swapped the tuners for some Fender tuners I had. I saw somebody on youtube install a jazzmaster bridge into this and maybe I will someday. I'm fine with the pick-ups and I really like my guitar. These HB instruments are just very nice.

I'm impressed, as it seems like it went together easily, and has no major flaws. Dialing it in, tidying up the frets, adjusting the action, etc. are all things to be expected for such a guitar.
