Massive Cheers mate...you just helped me unequivocally make my decision for the Squier...I own a modded Squier 70s Jazz Bass which I wouldn't trade for anything...and also the Harley Benton version of the Squier/Fender Stratacoustic guitar...which is just fine for that type of use...but...I have always wanted a Tele..the Squier isn't cheap..but not so much money either...the tonal comparison that you showed are all that I needed..👍

Aww that’s super kind, thank you 🙏. Glad it’s helped too. I’ve owned several CV teles and loved them all, you can’t go wrong 👍🏻🎸

They sound very similar. I think switching the pickups on the TE62 could make it into quite a good guitar.

@@thenovicenoisemaker It sounds good as is, no question. What I meant is, a pu change could elevate it to a point where you don't really need to buy the Fender version unless you're a gigging musician.

I A+B'd these in store and actually preferred the HB TE52 so much so that I ordered one new right after.The weird thing was Guitar Center was trying to sell the HB for $356 used when I got one from HB USA direct mailed to me for $201. The HB does the normal Tele hot bridge and creamy neck tones of a tele thing really well.
@thenovicenoisemaker Жыл бұрын
Crikey that’s a lot of money for a used one, definitely better getting a new one. Harley Benton make some great guitars at such good prices. Thank you for watching and keep me posted when yours arrives. Rich

@chris how are you liking it? Im worried bc the return shipping would cost a ton and im in the US so can’t really try it
@chrischu9551 Жыл бұрын
@@ethan.dea. I actually got it from the reverb Harley Benton us store 199 free ship. It's a lot of telecaster for the money. The classic vibe stays more true to fender neck proportions but the HB played great with a thicker neck and satin finish, caramelized neck. Its a close toe between the two. I liked the pickups on the HB better but the CV felt more true to a vintage tele.

I've asked online, and someone said the TE-62 switch felt as good as a squier one, so hopefully they updated it, and it's not as flimsy anymore. I plan on buying one in a few months. Seems very good for the price. Looks better to me than the squier affinitys, but maybe not as good as CVs. As long as it's better than the affinitys, that's all that really matters to me considering that they're quite a bit cheaper.
@thenovicenoisemaker7 ай бұрын
They’re great! The double bound ones look lovely too. I’ve had several TE-20, TE-30 and 52’s too. They not as good as a CV but plenty good enough and brilliant for the money

I have these same guitars; First came the Harley which felt great but sounded flat; so I put Tonerider Vintage pups in which sounded so much better; then I got the Squier (2010) which sounded flat compared to the Harley; so I swapped the pups around; now they both sound good to me; but the Harley has been and still is louder with with all of the 3 sets of pickups; that must be down to the rest of the electrics I'm guessing; I'm wondering if your Harley is louder than the Squier?
@thenovicenoisemaker Жыл бұрын
That’s interesting because yes, my Harley was louder but I think the pickups are brighter. I’ve the sound of the tone riders. I’ve got some other tele videos on a playlist if you’re interested. Thanks for tuning in and commenting 👍🏻

The best thing to do if you can't stay in tune is to get a properly cut bone nut. Way more important than anything. I do it to all my guitars. Even Gibsons. It's the most neglected part in the manufacturing process. I have to take mine to a tech but it's worth its weight in gold. More important than upgraded tuners. My guitars stay in tune even if I haven't touched one in years.
@thenovicenoisemaker8 ай бұрын
That’s a great tip. Temperature and humidity here don’t help either. My guitars are always out of tune and it’s annoying

How much set p did the HB require? Was the action high?
@thenovicenoisemaker2 жыл бұрын
Hi It was a bit high yes. 3 small turns on the truss Rod got it playable so no big hassle fortunately
@steveburrows16792 жыл бұрын
Squier obviously more expensive, nicer hardware & more nicely finished, but I prefer the tone of the HB. Worth playing with height of the pickups on both guitars, makes a big difference to tone and output.

Beautiful guitars. just proves u don't need to break the bank to make some decent music. You might wanna raise the neck pickup on the TE62CC a bit. Did wonders on mine. Seems to gives it a bit more attack or punch or whatever u wanna call it. Definitely less dull. Don't have problems with mine on drive or even higher gain. Just sounds delicious on every setting
