The old accelerator spring if you straighten it out , it’s perfect size to clean out those tiny holes in the jets and I used it to get the air mixture o ring out ,

@@aronsgarage834 just got done putting mine back together. Sanded down a flathead that was just a little too wide to fit down to the "idle" jet. Other than that smooth sailing. Thanks again.

I am noticing when I spray into accelerator pump jet the nozzle is not spraying like yours is. It’s more irregular and not a nice fan like spray. How should I fix this?
@aronsgarage834 Жыл бұрын
Try to flush it with carb cleaner a few times, then with compressed air, and see if it fixes it. Worst case scenario you have to change the nozzle.

I removed nozzle and sprays well alone but when I put it back on it still sprays irregularly. I put carb spray and compressed air through pathway with nozzle off as well. Could this be normal?

Ok, it must be that little steel ball in the float bowl then. When you shake the float bowl you normally hear it moving. Might be stuck partially. Might be worth cleaning it in an ultrasonic cleaner to free it up properly. Or spray wd40 in there and let it soak for a while.

Thanks!, great video, very detailed!, I have a CV on my TC88 Harley Heritage that keeps having a cough as I leave the stop sign, at 1/3 throttle it coughs, the main jet further with more throttle is ok, I cleaned the jets and its been turned for the pipes and all, I think its a slow jet canal that you sprayed near the butterfly, I'll let you know how it goes! Thx again! ;o)

Glad it’s helpful! Yes, that passage can clog up real easy. Also, worth checking your float level, too. Let me know how you get on!

@@aronsgarage834 Hi, well, I sprayed all the canals as you did, put it all back together, then, this morning I went to start it, and it wont start WTH!! it ran fine except for the slight cough at 1/3 throttle, I took it apart again now and all the jets are clear, the float is fine, what the hell happened??? this sux!!!, it ran my new battery down trying so much...

There is something you would have have missed putting it back together as cleaning your carb thoroughly would never cause any problems. Did you re-set your mixture screw properly? How many turns out was it at when you removed it?

@@aronsgarage834 Hi, yes, I always am very attentive, it seems I had no spark "all of a sudden", so, checking the codes on the dash showed it was a crankshaft position sensor....so, I'll let you know more after it arrives lol fackin BS harleys! I'm going back to my Kawasaki ZRX1200R "Bulletproof!"

That’s interesting, I never had that problem. Yeah, let me know if you get it resolved.
