I agree bro all Harleys over priced. You buy a new Harley and spend 20k or better right. Ok well now if you want it to actually sound like a Harley, that’s another 5k. There are many superior motorcycles for the same money. Myself I’m a Honda guy. You buy a new Goldwing $28k and all you got to do is ride it. It comes stock with over 100 hp and over 100 ft lbs of torque. I’ve seen guys get 300k miles on their Wings. Please show me a Harley that has that many miles and hasn’t been completely rebuilt…I come from a family where Harley is it, all my uncles ride Harleys, my dad rode a Harley. I’m just not with what you actually get for the money spent.

Yes, you are 100% correct. Paint, badges and added on bits which (you may not put on just the same) all make a CVO go better, go faster, handle better - right? Just HD BS propaganda which many folks fall for. I think auto locking bags are deserving but it fails if when you press the lock button it doesn't also lock the steering - as on a BMW. A CVO does not have automatically adjustable suspension - preload and rebound (say at the handlebars or programming) - like what comes standard on BMW, Triumph, Ducati, Pan America Special (noting the Pan America Special isn't a CVO). No electric adjustable windscreen height on the CVO neither. Having all these things on a CVO would make it deserving of being 'premium' and would make it special - just like the differences between a C Class and an S Class Mercedes - it's about the motor/power and premium features, not just premium paint and badges. Not sure I would call it a scam, just open marketing BS from the MCoy for the gullible HD consumer. Love is blind as they say. Too many HD tragics are blind to the HD marketing machine and HD knows and uses this to their advantage. Clearly, you and me aren't buying the CVO and other HD BS, even though we like our Harleys.

I’m too from Illinois , and always have had same thought about most toys here where we only get 4-6 months of good enjoyable riding weather and just don’t benefit from investing in . I always say if and when I move to warmer state then I can treat that as primary wheels not just seasonal . Therefore makes more sense to spend big on cars or trucks . However if I was going to invest 10k -15k plus on add-on’s for similar look or features , it’s a better investment and resale value to buy CVO . If you truly want that one of kind custom bike , get a standard and strip away and start fresh , one of kind paint job a must . Although will never get what you invested on trade . Maybe one day we’ll get that perfect Harley Davidson factory that will let us custom order a build from scratch like auto manufacturers. At a whopping 45k-50k it’s crazy to think it might not be a real fit and comfort and have to change for bars , seat , controls ,windshield even new shocks for another 5k-10k , without getting into motor exhaust and sound upgrades. Not my sense of “Custom Vehicle Operations”! Thanks for the insight !👍🏽

I'm getting to be chronic with the comments I guess, but anyway.....I so totally agree about the paint job and customizing in general. Buying a CVO paint job or bolting on parts from a place like JP is not "custom", it's just bolting on after market stuff. Nothing wrong with it, it's your money do what you want with it, but IMO it's way more fun to try to fabricate truly custom stuff on your own. Especially if you can afford a second bike you don't need as a daily rider. You can experiment and try building your own stuff, and when you are done you have pride in it and the only one like it.

Paint jobs aren’t worth paying an extra $20k in my opinion either. Hell no it is not worth the price. You can get many of the features such as RDRS on the Street & Road Glide Special. Now if you have $50k and want to buy one that is your business. Am I jealous nope. But hey if Harley is making money, the longer they stay in business and keep Americans working.

CVO def. not worth the money and neither is a brand new harley

If you wanna really ride don't buy a CVO if you got money like that and wanna collect a bike that's your Bike! I have 2020 SGS I changed Everything! Exhaust air cleaner screaming Eagle tuner Dino Bars seat radio and speakers speaker lids grips hand gaurds head light tail light turn signal tour pack lower farring and I'm probably missing some stuff? I did it because I wanted it custom my way not store bought that's not custom that's a stock version of a custom Bike

How bout you compare the Harley CVO's to most mid-level Indian Bagger and Touring Bikes since they come with auto locking bags and trunk. I will admit I traded my 2014 Road King last fall for a Indian Pursuit Dark Horse with Premium Package. For me the Indian is more bang for the buck and 10 times more tech than Harley.

Your statement you would take a car instead of the expensive motorcycle tells me everything 🤔 i like cars but I love motorcycles, I live in the north and have a short riding season. But I would have to put a hotrod car in the garage just the same as a motorcycle. And I way prefer to ride a bike then drive any cage/car 😉 when I bought my CVO it was because I truly fell in love with it at first sight, never even crossed my mind that the resale would hurt me. I bought it to ride not sale it. Frankly I liked the paint job and don't care if someone else has the same one. The CVO was perfect for me because it came with up grades I didn't have to do anything with it... I bought a slim s that basically is a CVO and didn't need to change it either, but I got things on both that wasn't even available on the regular version 👌long story short CVO Harley Davidson bikes are not for everyone but I never hear the people that bought a new one saying they regret they did 🤣

i have had two cvo,s and went to look at a new new one and saw 50,000+. i told them they can kiss my ass and bought a road glide st for 21,000 less

Well I comment nobody ever says anything so I guess it must be eliminated because they don't fit the Harley fanboy model. You guys do realize that you can buy two incredible motorcycles that will go anywhere and do anything way more horsepower way better handling virtually everything we're looking for for the price of one of these heavy overpriced can't handle motorcycles. I have four hundred fifty thousand miles on Road Glide on road Glides I have been all over the United States this evio's are ridiculously priced for what you're and Google's voice dictation is absolutely terrible

You don’t say!!?? 🤣🤣🤣 I wanna see the geezers face at a stop light with a CVO and I roll with a 135 Low rider S and a killer paint job for let’s assume 40K🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Overpriced? Absolutely. A scam? Nope. They are what they say they are. Hand built vs mass produced.

@insanewheels hand built vs mass produced. You don't understand the difference and it shows. Yes, it indeed matters 5 years down the road. Doesn't mean I want one. There is for sure a big difference.

Curious to see if he has anything legitimate to bring up, or if this is another “I can’t afford it so it sucks” video. I’d like to remind everyone of what prices looked like in the early 2000’s, when a road King was $35k lol.

I’d go back to a gen-shovel or try a Evo. I do like the CVO Breakout. But no can afford one.

I can afford one. Just not worth it for sitting unused in northeast for six months.

H-D sells CVO's because there is a Sucker born every minute. I love my current Harley's. But I completely despise the MoCo. Would never buy another one. All these new 'special' features like central locking saddlebags, linked brakes and such. Have been standard on Goldwings since 2001.

I heard that harley does not paint their cvos. They farm it out. Is that true?
