Steve Sabo I don’t believe so. This is a Police bike. Their life depends on their bikes. I would feel terrible as a mechanic if something went wrong with the bike while the Officer was riding it and crashed. Just an ex law enforcement officer’s opinion. Ride safe.

Can put a tool a part and get a 3/32 of a turn be there all day. Respect to men that do this for a living i don’t want to wrench on everyone’s bike just my own. I have a 2018 street bob and pray Elvira and I have no problems. It’s been a goo relationship so far we ride everyday even rainy ones. If there is any way you can post videos on this model it would be great. Thank you again for your knowledge.

I took my 2000 road king into the harley shop nearest me, needed front tire and asked for the 5000 service, plus why my engine light comes on when I release throttle. They had it for almost a month and I got the new front tire, but that's about all. Lot of money and time to change tire, still don't know why engine light comes on. But I know it has something to do with the throttle adjustment, it doesn't snap back. It sticks which is something they were supposed to do, paid for it but didn't get it. I need to find a good tech who isn't full of crap.

In your videos. Can you adjust the music volume to be quieter than your talking voice. Listening with headphones. Have to turn it up to hear you then the music comes back blasting. Turn it back down then you stop the music say a couple words and I can't hear you start turning up the volume then the music comes right back and start turning down the volume. Over and over and over. Gets tedious after a few minutes.

Hey John, I could use some help. I bought a 1998 Road King Police bike. The rear brakes don't work. It has a bleeder nipple on the caliber. I want to change the brake fluid and put fresh DOT5 in, at called for. Usually there is a brake fluid reservoir next to the brake by the floor board. I followed the brake line from the rear caliper and it seems to go into the engine block. I am puzzled. I mean does it comeback out and to the one on the right side of the handlebars, like is there just one brake reservoir and master cylinder? My 2010 has two. Maybe Road K has just one because it is an old bike, I don't know.

great video, man. I have a question about the steering head adjustment. i have a 2010 ultra and when i was getting wobble in turns. i checked my fall away and it was perfect. ...until i removed the fairing and radio. then it swung back and forth about 7 or 8 times. i tightened it until i had the proper amount and put everything back together. but now when i test fall away i might get 1.5 swings. is that a normal procedure for older touring models? keep up the great work
@TheHarleyTech
@TheHarleyTech 5 жыл бұрын
It should have the correct swings when completely assembled. You get more swings with less weight. It seems I usually get 5-6 with the radio and outer fairing off, and then 3 with it fully assembled. Don't forget tires. If I don't have 2 good tires on the bike, I don't even check anything else. If the owner isn't willing to replace tires below 50%, I'm not chasing down a wobble concern. It's just that 90% of the time, new tires fix it.

not all service tech are standup guys after three service interval services I started checking things after I found they put to much oil in my engine when I took it back the tech says better to much oil then not enough wrong answer asswipe you get paid to do it right then I found that my final drive belt never got adjusted at any of the service intervals I'm guessing it didn't get done chase they're have to take the exhaust pipes off o yeah they put them on for me went back to one of the owners and he said they would do it no charge they don't give things away so he must have found something out about the tech that worked on my bike last sad to think of what he didn't do on other peoples bikes and they haven't checked any work out .the dealership I go to are stand up guy but like I said not all service tech do the job they get paid to do so check out the work done on your bike and don't be afraid to take it back happy motoring

John Maxwell holy bat flaps you responded to that question quick. Bro I really appreciate the response. But I do have another question, I have a 2014 FLHR, w/ vance and Hines twin round slash and a stage 1 kit and using the FP3. I have noticed from the breather when I throttle on the highway there’s like a weird ticking. I could find anything loose. Have you ever heard of anything like this before.
@TheHarleyTech
@TheHarleyTech 6 жыл бұрын
+John Mendez yea we are pretty slow at work...haha. The sound could be a few things, hard to tell sounds through text! It could be valves (normal) that you couldn’t hear before you put a bigger air cleaner on. It could technically be pinging, but you’d need a trained ear to tell that. You’re running 91 or better octane, right? Sounds weird but shift linkage is bad about loosening up and rattling. Rest your foot on it riding down the road and see if the ticking stops. Hard to tell sounds while riding, but I do see loose linkage a lot!
