"sounds like an evolution for harley" *me thinking how beautiful old evo engine sounds at low idle😪💖
@exothermal.sprocket3 жыл бұрын
There's a reason why they don't sound the same. If you want to make horsepower, you gotta spin some RPMS. Those giant pushrod engines can't do that without exploding, so in order to make 150 horsepower they'd have to increase displacement 3x what they are, like a hotrodded S&S engine, but then you're like a diesel, still turning no RPM, huge amounts of rotating mass messing up rev quickness, bike handling, and overall response. 45° V layout isn't optimal for higher revs either due to vibration, connecting rod clearances, other things. Ducati has run 90° for a very long time because with that layout you can achieve perfect primary balance without an additional rotating balance shaft which sapps engine response, takes away horsepower from the wheel, increases inertia and complexity. I think I prefer the sound of a 90° Vtwin generally, but other layouts sound fine. KTM runs 75° for example, Indian FTR is 60°.

I saw the Bronx in person at a NY bike show and thought... ( being a big fan and owner of Japanese nakeds) finally a Harley I would own. But no... the scrapped it for the Sportster S. Single front disc, two inches of suspension travel and forward mounted foot controls??? Unless of course you pony up $700 for the mid controls which bolt on to the engine covers 😳. The Sportster S is a dumb bike. Form over function. Just dumb.
