If your plan is to only do a Stage 1 kit, you can pay the dealer $100.00 for the Stage 1 download. I left my 2016 with just the typical stage 1 (Rinehart slip ons and heavy breather) for a long time. I only recently put a Trask Assault 2 into 1 on it, so of course I had to buy a Fuel Pack 3 in order to flash the bike with a generic 2 into 1 tune. I've only recently gotten into modifying to "make it my own." Truly a satisfying experice to do all the work your self. Despite the cost of special tools etc., your still saving a good deal of money by not paying a dealer, or small shop to do the work for you.

You did a good job on it. Always an adventure. I had the cam in my road glide done at a great shop. T-man cam with s&s cam chest kit.. man what a difference. Then I did cams in my dyna a couple weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to ride it yet. To much ice still. I'm jealous of you guys getting ride time 👌

Biggest problem of adding more power is tires.. gotta wait ages to get them ordered in then wait again for workshop time. Yes one day I will install my own, have done one, but balancing them right is hard and need a $1k machine. So when I eventually move I will get one. And keep tires ready.. I also live nearly 2 hours away from nearest harley dealer. So its very annoying.

If you are planning to get the bike professionally tuned "which I highly recommend", the tuners run $400-$1000. Power vision, TTS mastertune, Thundermax and Direct link are the most common after market tuners. Also add $600 of labor for a good tune session (some tuners cost more or less depending on who they are and what state they are located). So in total add $1600 to Sandy's total cost if you are planning to get it tuned. That $1600 drops quite a bit if a Thundermax tuner isn't used because Thundermax is a $1000 tuner and the other 3 are around $400-$450.

My FLHT is a carbureted 02 which are getting harder and harder to find but are in demand by some guys, and I won’t let mine go. I got off easy on my Stage 1. I paid roughly $700 total about 10 years ago. No tune needed on a carbureted bike. My Stage 2 was $2000 for parts and labor including rebuilding and rejetting the carb with performance jets from Ivan’s Performance out of South Carolina. Half the cost was labor. In my opinion - these two performance upgrades are the best thing you can do to a Harley and worth every penny. You can hear the Harley-lope rumble of my bike on one of my ‘rambling on about nothing’ videos. Nothing like it.

Agree ! Love the sound, I think that’s what Harley is all about- the sound, the rumble , vibration, the small of burned gas - beautiful !

Go for the Powervision tuner you won't be disappointed. Also wash your windshield first to avoid any dirt etc from scratching it.

You've really only cleaned your bike a few times, 😉😉😉 Nice break down of all the parts Sandy. When I did my stage 2 with just HD Street Cannons, SE Tuner, SE cam and the high flo air cleaner, total was $3500 Canadian. I thinks that's pretty good and that was 3 years ago. Now I have a brand new 21 Street Glide and I don't know what to do. I'm thinking the 2-1 pipe with a cam but there's do much to choose from, cheers Sandy and take care of Peko, cheers, 😎😎😎

I can't ever convince myself to like those wraparound front wheel fenders they remind me of a Japanese bike or a European made bike. I love the original stock classic Harley fender that comes on the touring models. Other than that you have a nice looking bike, thanks for sharing.

Mine cost me around $3400 for stage 2 with installation. Woods 22xe cam, Lifters, Power vision tuner, and tabs 2-1-2 headers. I feel like it's pretty expensive.

I was wondering if you are going to do the intake breather mod that redirects the oil and hot air that gets sucked into the intake and reroute it externally so your pistons after a few thousand mile will not have carbon built up on them like so many people even Doc Harley suggest to do? Also been reading about how hot these new bikes get and was wanting to know if the heat is as bad as some say? People are saying they get over 300 degrees real fast going down the freeway but do not know how they are able to get a temperature reading when the bike does not have an engine temp reading? When I look at the Harley parts page they offer a digital dip stick gauge but the reviews were not so good. Of coarse alot of the info about the heat and breathers are from DK CUSTOMS who sells things to fix the problems but he does know what he is talking about I am sure. He also has 10 free fixes for the heat issues. I am just so concerned with all the things you should or need to do for a $40,000.00 dollar bike as with a proper tuner that will void warranty possibly and the breather mods, the wind buffeting on this model that can be fixed by installing the fork fangs Harley offers but can increase engine temp by 25 degrees in weather over 70 degrees so what to do? Thanks for the help.

Lots of questions in 1 post 👍🏻 😆 LOL 👍🏻… you are correct- a lot of unknown facts regarding the heating of the engine! I’m going to install love jugs on my stage 2 - just in case ….

Stage I is a must to allow the engine to breathe and run cooler. Stage II is not worth the money for the little difference in performance.

@@HOLYSHIFT that was replace cam plate oil pump, cam kit, and intake manifold, with bigger injectors, turn that bike into a monster. Think my exhaust was the most expensive part but it's been on 3 different m8 motors now and so has my breather.
