Rings should be installed from the top of the cylinder to check gap not the bottom.

On twin cams what's your experience with when the cam chain tensioners tend to fail or should be replaced.

Around 40K tensioners tend to give out, but seen them pretty worn when tearing into a 30k cam chest too. Depends on maintenance.

What are the initial timing and advance slope at on this build? I have almost a similar setup but i get pinging when i pull throttle from lower rpm. My initial timing is at 5 and my advance is at 6. Althought my cams are 583 cams from sscycle. Should i be retarding my initial timing?

Initial timing is 7 and Advance Slope is 7. But depends on other factors: what octane gas you use, do you have worked heads, bigger valves, what's the compression ratio? All those variables will effect the settings you need.

Not even 3 days ago I was looking for the mounting hardware for those style of bags. I have a pair and would like to mount them to my Dyna. Do you know where to get the mounting kit or can you share a pic of how you had those mounted? I appreciate the help and again, good video!

I have a 2004 road king i bought used with a 95" kit on it with 525 cams. Whats the chance my crank runout is as good as what that one was???. Id love to do sns gear drive cams...

After 02 they moved away from a timken bottom end. Runout tends to be higher. Only way to know for sure would be to have it measured unfortunately. I have an 03 fxd that had 13k with stock cam chain tensioner etc. when I replaced it with a feuling conversion cam setup I had it measured first before ordering the parts and luckily was within range but a friend had the same bike and he was out of gear drive range by a couple thousandths. It tends to be different bike by bike. Chain drive isn’t bad though if you’re runout isn’t like perfect. We’re both running feuling 525 conversion cams mine gear drive and his chain on otherwise stock 88s and I’m pulling 91hp and he’s at 90 so not too different
