It's often said that some parrot breeds have the intelligence and emotional capacity of a 4 year old human child. I think that's what the OP was referring to.

And they're probably doing it for exactly that reason. Parrots are playful and curious in a lot of the same ways that people are. Sometimes my bird throws tantrums or babbles to herself for no reason. (Good) parrot owners are willing to put up with a lot because of their relatively high level of emotional, social, and cognitive intelligence. ♥️♥️♥️

It must be like having an extremely noisy two year old in the house. A two year old that never grows up! I like parrots/cockatoos - from a distance; but I could never own one - they're just too demanding....and noisy. I'll go for the easy life thanks, and just get a cat or dog. Mind you sometimes they too can be hard work - huskies for example, renowned for having meltdowns. Or Newfies for just being so stubborn. Generally though cats and dogs make easier pets than parrots. You have to have alot of patience and be able to tolerate having a 'two year old' in your house 24/7 for many years!! This parrot looks like it's enjoying themselves, but I bet it can be a little rascal at times. The neighbours too, must hear the noises constantly!

Every time one of the birds at my work does something silly or awkward, I always pictures a dinosaur doing the same thing. One of our conures likes to randomly bob up and down (like a person would do to music), but is still young and uncoordinated, so he falls down sometimes. It's funny on it's own, but thinking about a velociraptor doing the same thing makes me giggle.
