i wish my dad was alive ,HE WOULD LOVE YOUR STUFF, he used to tell me stories of board racing, he really got excited about Harley at 21 yrs old and bought a new for 1927 street Harleys, when i was around 16/18 yrs(i'm an old fart now) early 1950s, he was proud to explain the bike he bought, describing it had 74 disp. had a BARREL carb(no butter fly), and said 1st one with DOW METAL pistons hi compression!, said it would go over 110 MPH in second gear! how times change 1950s,, i was around that time , used to deliver news papers to a scrape metal place , and seen and old engine layin on the ground , payed $2. dollars for it and dragged it home, in a cart, dad said it was date 1916 Harley!

Actually, "thanks" to Covid I found so many museums I still want to visit, since a lot of them offer virtual tours and got me interested. But no other museum offers so many detailed videos with that much background knowledge. I really want to visit now. Trouble is, I'm from Germany. To keep the ball rolling, something like this, from the Hamburg Maritime Museum in my city, is what I ment in my first sentence: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGeupY2Prs-ni7s ("Heavy Metal" theme tour)

@@TINA-xu2bc I've got you by 5 years dear . Been riding since I was 8. Nobody loved HD like I did ( still have the ink ) They were American made. Now 70 percent Japanese Australian wheels some assembly still done in USA ( Enough to avoid import taxes) won't bore you any more I could fill volumes with what is now worthless information. The worst lesson I learned was the women (maybe excluding you) did not have the heart that they professed. Last year I put 10 k miles on other brands of motorcycles solo Just sayin

It was a rolling start, the bike was push started by the mechanics. Then the competitors drove around the track and when they reached the start straight, they got the "go" signal with a flag.

@@asdfghjkl48929 Fifty years ago, I lived on the edge of Chicago, used to go to "Santa Fe speedway", a quarter mile and half mile clay track. It was faster than the asphalt tracks back then, cheap and exciting. The EPA shut that track down back in the eighties or nineties. They always did flying starts, bikes and stock cars.
