When I see people moving while pregnant, I think why didn't you do this sooner or later. Stress is not good for the baby. We have all the tools we need nowadays to plan better than that. The granite in the new kitchen is beautiful!

Linda I totally understand that sometimes that’s how things work out though... everything happens all at once. Ideally being stress free while pregnant is what everyone wants, but sometimes you’ve just gotta manage it healthfully and kick butt. 💪🏼

And then that night you walk in....... and it’s empty and then you spot the macbook: “hahahhaahhahahh” ima take this.. probably 30 minutes later your back at your house, and you start up the MacBook, it won’t turn on! You are so lucky that your house was empty lol

I felt like it was easy moving my over 100 plants last year. I used big boxes and made them tight and packing paper in between plants. It worked great. Unpacking them was a lot of work. I wish I had this video last year. Great video for people that are moving.

My dad told me that when I was 5 we moved about a day's drive. My mom drove the car with the kids and the dog. He drove the Uhaul with our furniture and dozens of african violets. ;) I remember his plant stand, those violets, and his terrarium from my childhood. It's lovely that your child (though they won't remember the move) is going to grow up around plants.

Easier to move them when the soil is dry, wet soil makes more of a mess (I learned this the hard way)... I used to cut a Walmart bag half way up and wrap it around the base of the plant and tape it to the pot, then garbage bag over the greenery of large plants to protect from wind/cold. Smaller plants, I just put them in boxes. And wrapped garbage bags around boxes I could not close. I have moved 6 times in the past 10 years with no losses 🙂

I just moved in January. It was a 7 hour drive in a car packed with plants. We were supposed to close on the 9th but the seller wasn’t cooperating so we couldn’t close until the 16th. So we had to spend 7 nights in a hotel with all of my plants plus my three cats. One of those cats loves chewing on the leaves so every single night I had to haul all of the plants into the bathroom so she wouldn’t chew on them. I didn’t have the heart to lock her in the bathroom at night. It was such a stressful situation with that seller. To make matters worse, my husband got deployed on the day we were finally able to move in. He was able to help me move everything from the uhaul into the house but after that I had to drive him to the navy base. He’ll be gone for at least 6 months. It’s been incredibly stressful doing everything alone. At least I’m finally in my new house and I can now start filling it with plants, which I couldn’t really do at my old house.

Sounds rough. Try to join some type of community...fitness classes, dance classes, book clubs, gamers dens, bar trivia nights, quilting/knitting clubs, volunteer programs, particioate in your local theatres, improve, etc. It will help the loneliness.

Newspaper or magazine pages would work for squeezing into the spaces between plants in your boxes. Plus, the paper allows better air flow. Moving sounds stressful to me. It will be my turn to do this in a few years. I'm moving from the upper Midwest to the Southwest. It's going to be a huge change in climate for my planty friends. Good thing I have tons of cacti and succulents.....😊🌵

When I moved a month ago I did the same thing pretty much with the boxes! It’s good to hear that there wasn’t much if any damage! That’s awesome. I fucked up my rhaphidophora tetrasperma it grew all these new leave and I accidentally knock almost all of them off. -_- I hope it bounces back soon. You’d new place is gorgeous btw!!! I know the stress, I moved into a flat from my Mom's house and I had to do it on the bus in cold english weather (it took 3 trips) I ended up loosely cling wrapping them and packing them in big shopper bags and carrying 2 each on each arm (only 1 casualty) now theyre all settled and happy! I even picked my new place for its lighting 😂

With baby, dogs, cat big plant collection, moving, snowstorm, break-in (so worrying even if they only got a broken mac)....Inspiration to all of us complaining about what we have to get done in a day. I do have one question for you or your followers...It’s winter there and you put your plants on window sill. Don’t they get too cold overnight? Maybe your windows are sealed better than mine, but it is still thin pane(s) of glass.

I bit the bullet and just wound up just renting a cargo van for my tall plants, etc.. High ceilings, and everything stayed upright. No messes to clean up or re-soiling.
