He was not a traitor and yes he was very close to sant ji. Sant Jarnail singh had high hopes of him taking the movement to great steps but as we all know the government of India is very clever and enjoy watching their enemies fighting within themselves. Like they used on sant ji as well by lying on him being a congress agent. The same way they made Harminder Singh Sandhu face a similar situation. Spreading the word that he was also with the govt., which he wasn't. Later some militant groups started sending him warnings after which he even replied that the government is spreading false words about him to create a fight within jathebandis . He stated to the militants that 'if the bullet you Singhs shoot me with leads to Khalistan, I'll happily take it'. Later on he was killed by a militant group of misunderstanding (Diljit Singh Bittu involved). Baba manochahal called the killers traitors of the faith.
