I'd like to lend a story about Harold. In the mid 90's, I was a rollerblader because I was trash at skating, but always tried, but was way better at blading, even got sponsored by a company for a VERY short time. Anyway, when I used to skate around The Cube (on Astor Place, now named whatever the fuck,) the other skaters didn't want me there, but Harold ALWAYS stood up for me, until we were united. Oddly enough, I was the only person living right next to the Cube in the first place lol, but I never tried to front like "well this is my spot." But Harold always had my back. When Harold past away, I got myself a new deck at a now defunct but dope ass spot called Reciprocal that had pinball machines. An old school style, I got an Elephant Mini Axe with old school Independant trucks, wheels I forgot, but I just wanted to skate around in Harold's memory. This dude really was a persona you don't get anymore, and I miss seeing him around here so much. You can see videos of him and think you know someone like him, you don't. One of a kind.

Thx for uploading this. Harold deserves to be remembered, not just for NYC but for all skateboarding. 1st met him when he & the rest of the Zoo York team came down to DC. We got to session with them & seeing him, a fellow goofyfooted skater, put so much of himself into every trick inspired the hell outta me. Just skating & chillin with him & the rest of Zoo York was an experience I always remembered lol. The man had a larger than life personality & absolutely unbridled creative energy that just radiated off him. It was infectous. Harold was good technically while always bringing his style & going big. What's more, his personality & creativity was seen in everything he did on & off the board at a level few others do. Thx for being a legend & may you continue to RIP brother.
