Gaffney is a football town. We played them when I was in high school on their turf! A small boy on the Gaffney sidelines kept screaming “ Get him daddy, get him!!”

My wife and I ate there on the strength of Guy's giant I 85 Food Network billboard endorsement. Here's our take on this Gaffney landmark. We both ordered the "world famous chili burger". This should have been our first red flag. You walk in to a run down, slightly moldy smelling narrow establishment clad in drab brown paint and essence of old grease. It's a ragged charm patina. I'm not one for anything fancy at all but everything about the hell hole ambiance of Harold's says run away now. But on the word of Guy Fieri we press on, squeezing into a narrow decrepit looking booth. Now thoroughly wedged into our seating accommodations we were committed to this endeavor and soon lured in by the novelty and flavor potential of a meatball centered Sloppy Joe format sandwich that only costs 1.59. Second red flag? Ignoring it I order two my wife orders one, two orders of fried green tomatoes, a can Mountain Dew and lemonade. The service was adequate - prompt, and efficient. The food arrives - tomatoes first. Served fresh and hot with a side of Ranch. They were so good that we not only forgot about the shabby atmosphere and people but were now anticipating the main course which arrived only moments later. I now present to my impression of the world famous chili burger: bland with a hint of gross; as if it were made from WWII era canned meat and sauce. It tasted like old people smell. I mean that in the most complimentary tone I can convey. My wife took one bite and spit it into a napkin. I ate both of my disgustingly runny meat and bread concoctions only because I am a scavenger and a mutt. The lemonade was also bland, nearly flavorless. My heart goes out to the people of Gaffney who don't know any better, but Guy Fieri does. Our visit to Harold's was a one time too many trip to one of the worst restaurants ever at the crossroads of bland and gross. In closing, if you decide to visit Harold's anyway, don't forget to grab a .75 Alka-Seltzer, available at the check out as a digestive aid to the 1.59 (burger?)

oh boy this brings back memories I lived in Gaffney 7 years ('92-'99) I always hated Harold's. I thought their "burgers" were gross AF. Like a really nasty sloppy joe. Their hot dogs were bland and nasty too. I like seeing all the hate comments on here, it confirms I'm not crazy. lol. Some people loved it though...including my dad. He would get Harold's to go all the time, and my heart would sink every time I saw those greasy paper bags. now if you want to get a really great delicious "diner" experience get out of gaffney and head to spartanburg..and check out the Beacon

Oh Lord. The Beacon. It was awesome when John White was still alive, but that place has really gone down, it is not near as good as it used to be. But there ice tea is still awesome!

I just moved here to Gaffney about 4 years ago from Columbus Ohio and I haven’t been to Harold’s yet but I have been to Mr Waffle which is great and I’ve been to Daddy joes which I fully enjoyed (best ribs) Pete’s of Gaffney love their hamburgers.......last but not least is K&C...they’ve got great burgers also and the fries....

Just looked this place up as I went to college in South Carolina and there was a shooting in the restaurant back in 2018. Asked a guy to leave he comes back with a gun shoots the person he was arguing with and the guy in this video who owns the place Tony. They both lived but the shooter got 65 years. Tony tried to shoot him but his gun jammed. Well enjoy the chili burgers

yea I went there today it wasn't any good there was a bar right beside it that u walked through to get to Harolds (the back entrance) only one meat ball in the burger and everything was pre -cooked we're from pacolet right beside Gaffney

Literally the only thing Harolds has going is the as seen on Tv pasted everywhere. On their hats, the windows, the walls and the food is like pig slop. Terrible food and sorry for Gaffney residents but it's like Hell here. Atleast be respectful like Chesnee and get a bantam chef.

Notice how the producers of DDD usually put really cool music in the background, but this place....not so much. This place looks like a compete crap hole.
