Harriman State Park and Fort Montgomery NYS

Hiking with your dog is an amazing experience for both of you. Today we tackled another trail in Harriman State park that had a surprise with a memorial to fallen soldiers at the summit. While reaching the peak invariably awes you with stunning vistas and views today we were blown away and moved by this incredible tribute to our men and women in uniform who serve this great nation and paid the ultimate sacrifice. God Bless America and God Bless our women and men in uniform!

Interesting - I have been there. However, I find it sad that the State has so much beautiful outdoor attractions to enjoy yet at the same time has become oppressive and difficult such that I would never consider returning. The state government has a history of corruption, the political ideology is derived from NYC, and there has been little interest or effort in restoring economic viability of commerce or manufacturing across the state. The only economic driver in the Hudson Valley today is NYC commuters (or the drug trade in Newburgh).
