Several years ago, I had a thought. I saw all the local "experts" telling what to put away. Food, water, first aid, and so forth. But I thought about what we use everyday, and what would be nice to have on hand. So I got a "flip-top" storage box, and when I was shopping, I would see something and think "that would be nice to have." And I would get it and toss it in the miscellany box. I now have FOUR boxes of random things. In addition to other storage items, including what was mentioned here. And I am not done. For example, good work gloves would be valuable, Zio-Lock baggies, strike-anywhere matches (not easy to find anymore) AND friction fire starters. Pocketknives. Ample supply of Band-aids. Large handkerchieves or bandanas, New white socks. Laundry and dish soaps. I used to think there would NEVER be a need for these things or for SHTF prep. Not here. But now...

SO many options for barter to consider, should do a video on the best barter items. I've subbed caffeine pills for the coffee for barter reasons: cheap, easy to store properly, small / easy to transport, etc. In a SHTF barter needs, this would be the new crack!

Why do you need oxygen absorbers if youve vaccum sealed something. I got a vacuum sealer and sealed some dry goods, and then I got some oxygen absorbers. Should I open up the bags I’ve already sealed and put oxygen absorbers in and reseal?

you didn't touch on everyday medications and emergency medical supplies such as bandages, antiseptics, analgesics, gauze, medical tape. You can have a discussion with a nurse friend if you have one for further ideas along these lines.

Used surplus ammo cans contained ammunition at one point. Those are the ones you cannot use. If you buy after-market commercial ammo cans that are brand-new those are safe

Baking soda: Mix with bate (e.g. corn mill). Mice and rats can not burp, so baking soda will react with the stomach acid, bloat and kill the varmint.
