But as election deniers hold office in positions across the nation, she worries the legitimacy of the U.S.' position as a democracy watchdog is called into question by some.

On a related topic, the war in Afghanistan lasted 21 years. There are still people there but no soldiers. During those 21 years 2.3 trillion dollars was spent by the US on the war. 243,000 people died soldiers and civilians. Nobody in the US blink an eye. The soldiers that came home were not taken care of. There was no measurable positive result from this war. The people that profited from this war are all the defense industries all the large corporations everything that was contracted out that the military used to do for themselves All that money went to those people. Imagine spending 2.3 trillion dollars on Medicare, social security, college for all, veterans, homeless Americans and people starving in the United States of America. The richest country in the world can afford to spend 2.3 trillion dollars on a useless war but can't take care of the citizens of their own country. But at least there's people making money in the United States that is the end all be all. Not all the people but enough people to keep this system alive. So do we face a threat as big as the one from 9/11. Yes we do but it's from our politicians and corporations not from a foreign entity.

After watching this interview I feel a little better about VP Harris. I mean, it is kind of silly to consider this former prosecutor as "superficial" and intellectually "facile," but I must admit to feeling that way about her -- that she just lucked out and the universe just dealt her a bunch of easy cards to play, so she was constantly laughing no matter the serious nature of the topic. This interview, however, had flashes of seriousness coming from the VP. She started the usual lack of seriousness and trademark giddy laughter, but I forced myself to continue watching. She needs to do more like interviews because I think a lot of Americans feel like I felt about VP Harris. I am not saying she is deeper than I thought in one interview and should be front runner for 2024, but I am saying for me this interview began to help improve my impressions of her --that she thinks it's all a game to laugh over.

@@76helpingdogs I saw her debates during the nomination process, and it didn't go well for her. I'm not trying to bash VP Harris. These are just personal observations. At the time Biden won the nomination, I didn't think she should be the running mate. She wasn't even the campaign runner up. Others placed much better. I forget the reasons many pundits gave that Biden should or might pick her as a running mate despite her dismal showing during the nomination process. Again, maybe it's God's universe being very kind to her, but she's not there because she won any debates during the nomination process. In fact, if my memory is correct, she had two infamous moments during the debates, which would have disqualified many candidates from VP consideration; in one she all but accused Biden of racism on the busing issue, and second, Tulsa Gabbard got the better of her regarding Harris work as a prosecutor --which should have been her unassailable calling card.
