Hey Darren, great review as always. I tried those darts and was amazed how the fly. the balance and also the power, how they hit the board seem to fit perfectly to my throwing style. However, I am not very comfortable with that middle to rear section, where the dart gets a little bit thicker. Have the feeling, the dart is kind of rolling in my fingers. can you recommend a dart with comparable balance and settings?

Hmm, good question, I think Harrows have a few darts that have a kind of similar shape but may be not as thick. I think the Wolfram Infinity and Verve are two that comes to mind.

Its not the same type of grip but I think its just as grippy. I gave it 8 in my written review on the forum.

How do you know what weight of dart to get? I use Winmau Paul Nicholson darts in 24g. I like them but want some with better grip at the rear. Ive been looking at harrows wolfram infinity. Whats your opinion on this change and should i get the same weight again?

I dont think its an easy thing to know or have a way to easily tell someone. I think its about observing how the darts feel to you and how they land and fly through the air. Over time you will just feel more comfortable with a certain weight but the shape of the dart can also affect how it feels, a 22g front weighted dart will feel heavier if your a front gripper than a 22g straight barrel for example. Its also complicated more by the fact the stems and flights can have an affect on how the dart flies. A general idea to gauge it by is if you are a hard fast thrower then a lighter dart may be best and if your more of a slow thrower then a heavier dart may be best but there is always contradictions to that. Personally I think its a good idea to try a range of weights and just see what feels more comfortable to you. 24g is a good middle ground to start with though. Some people say if the dart is dropping below your target all the time then it is too heavy and if its landing above it is too light, but I think that still relies on your throw being consistent and can still be affected by the stems and flights but I suppose its another guideline. I started with 27g and now I prefer 23g but I can use 22g and 24g too. I would say you should be fine with the same weight in the Infinity :)

Great review Darren I got these and love them. I'm a rear gripper though and agree with you they feel a tiny bit front weighted. Still a great dart looks class too and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Well done again Harrows.

I am not really a rear gripper so its not an easy one for me to say but there was some soft tip darts that I tried once which were good for me, they were only short, forget the name of them though.

Hi I tried all darts and all kind of grips and I stick to my cheap ring grips, in my opinion grip is over rated but I can see why people like grip, I tried harrows razr bulbous darts and I smashed the grip to bits in a few weeks

Yeah I understand what your saying. The problem is everyone is different, some people have very rough skin from manual work so may need a dart with a lot of grip to be able to get a feel for it. Some people have very sweaty or very dry skin so again they may want a dart with a certain type or level of grip. The more grip on the dart the more potential for deflections and damaged flights but that will still depend on the way the grip is made but if a player needs the grip then they will have no choice but to put up with such potential draw backs.

If it's super dry out or cold out then dart grip is essential. Throwing in your house everyday with perfect conditions is different than having to go out to a pub in the middle of winter and your hands are cold and dry and you can't grip a dart for shite.
