This is what i think, Kane can't press and is unfit and hasn't played a full 90 minutes for months, Foden is ineffective, Rice is overrun in midfield because Bellingham doesn't want to track back and Alexander Arnold is out of his depth, Southgate can get the blame for playing this squad but the players have to take the blame for being unable to execute whatever game plan he gave them because there aren't good enough to do it. what needs to happen is this, change formation to 4-4-2, Foden needs to be dropped or played on the right instead of Saka, Kane needs to be a 45 minute player, Alexander Arnold needs to be out of midfield and on the subs bench as a right back. On the right Walker and Foden play together for Man City, know each other, and can play well together, Saka also plays well on the right needs to alternate with Foden, because lets face it Saka is one of those players that play too many games anyway. on the left Trippier and Gordon, play together for Newcastle, know each other, and can play well together. Kane is the striker furthest forward and Bellingham just behind. Starting 11 from left to right Pickford Trippier -Guehi - Stones - Walker Gordon - Rice - Mainoo (or Gallagher)- Foden Bellinghaham Kane

2:22 Italy 94 reminded me of current England situation which have 2 great number 10. Arrigo Sacchi at that time just chose Baggio over another great number 10 of Italian football history Giuseppe Signori because Sacchi knew that Baggio was more hardworker and agressive while Signori was more like player who only showboating. And Sacchi decision for choosing Baggio was correct as Baggio took Italy into 1994 world cup final before he got knee injury in semifinal that play a role on his failed last Italy penalty kick against Brazil. Speaking about that 2 Italian number 10 honestly Signori had better club season than Baggio at that time and in term of skills Signori was better than Baggio but Beppe lack that agrressiveness and not a hardworker player.

I was pulling my hair out before the tournament thinking how can no one see that England's attack has no runners,and hence no balance? No "pundit" brought it up. Only Howson did. It's basic common sense. And playing Trent in midfield with no runners should be a sackable offence in itself. Southgate has to pick a system. He has to drop Foden,and trust Gordon(Should have brought Rashford). You can only play two of Foden, Bellingham and saka together,if your striker is Kane. Also, playing Bellingham deep to accommodate Foden won't work either, because the defence isn't good enough and will concede a lot more.
@robbiewizz6585 ай бұрын
Bellingham learnt his trade as an 8 he can defend an attack so you could play them both. We could drop Foden and play Bellingham as the 10, wide Right Saka or Palmer, play Gordan or Eze on the left. For a proper ball playing midfielder play Mainoo or Wharton. They are better receiving* with pressure from behind .alongside Rice… Be brave if cane drops Bellingham or Foden get beyond. Runners Saka, Gordon, Eze .

The bottom line was when Scholes, Gerrard and Lampard were in the squad, only 2 of them could play per game, but Erikson did not have the guts to leave one out per game fearing a media onslaught that could cost him his job. The same happened in bringing Rooney into the team so young because the media demanded for no other reason than to get Heskey out of the team. There was no reason to rush Rooney into the team and so dismantle a successful, feared and very strong team that was beating Germany 5-1 on their own turf, but the media who see football with a computer game mentality demanded it, thinking their demands motivated by their racist attitude towards Heskey would not effect the team only to see it do exactly that. They threw negativity after negativity at Heskey, ignoring any of the positives, to brainwash the public into turning against him so the manager is pressured into throwing him out of the England team. In the end, England with Heskey out of the team failed to make the Euros and only nearly made it to the competition because injuries meant there was no one to bring into the tea, but Heskey resulting in England beating teams they could not beat before his return. The irony is, it came down to the last game, but Heskey was injured for that game and again England failed without him and so did not make the Euros. Just because you have 3 of the greatest goal keepers in the world, it does noy mean you have to play them all in the same game. That is just common sense and there was no need to play Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes, 3 central midfielders, in the same game of a 4-4-2 system, but the media demanded the manager do it and make the impossible work. Gerrard and Scholes was producing great results, so why change it, until Scholes and Lampard have proved that provides better results. Peace and love

Not an England fan but as a football fan it has been frustrating to see that Southgate cannot get the best out of this team. I believe Southgate may have meant not having a natural DM like Kalvin Philips. If he had Wharton maybe earlier in the season he may have seen him as a DM. Southgate ideal team would be natural DM at 6 Declan rice as 6/8 Jude Bellingham as 10 When Southgate made those comments I think some people may have thought he hasn't got the same quality as Kalvin Philips. I think Southgate was reluctant to Play Rice and Jude as no 8 because he believes Defensively it may not be as strong... especially when you put Foden as 10 Jude Bellingham playing as no 10 and scoring so many goals for Real Madrid was a dream for Southgate. All Southgate needed to do was play Jude further forward.. ( Remember Jude was playing as 8 for England) Southgate knows Jude is good at pressing and would run all over the pitch.. I believe he was playing Jude as an 8 Playing Trent was Southgate coming away from playing a more defensive midfielder. He felt Trent maybe able to adapt to midfield quicker... Especially on the defensive side of the game. Playing Trent midfield should have been done straight after the world cup. Given Trent a real opportunity to establish himself in that role Now Southgate is in a position where if he gets it wrong England could be at risk of going out the next round.

None of them have any idea what Rio is saying. If you criticise with blasphemed vocabulary it will be taken in a completely different way to if it was more constructive or less ‘aggressive’. The whole thing is taken out of context anyway simply because a journalist wants to write headlines. The journalists are a massive reason why England haven’t won anything since ‘66. They don’t go out on the pitch, but they are the difference to the mental edge that England have lacked with tournament winning potential squads.

This is the team Rio played in in the 2006 wc quarter final which England might have won were it not for rooneys sending off. He has completely forgotten that Sven actually played a holding player in Hargreaves’s that day with Joe Cole on the left which given the fashion for inverted wingers these days was not even really that out of position all thing’s concerned and we never had a natural left footer to play there anyway. Owen was injured, scholes had retired: Robinson Neville Rio Terry A Cole Hargreaves Beckham J Cole Gerrard Lampard Rooney up top on his own which again was not in fashion then but people very rarely play 2 up top these days. 🤔 So Sven did actually pick the right team by the end of his reign just still couldn’t get over the line anyway.

20:08 Nope! It's not a stupid question after what England did with Danny Welbeck!!! Basically stopping us from having him just because. I KNEW that he would barely get any England caps after making his England debut. I will say it. It seems that in England only certain types of people are allowed to be the star man

Like Bellingham and Saka? What types of people?

Welbeck? He was useless! Your right though it's always a Saka and Bellingham

Nobody stopped Welbeck from playing for Ghana, he chose to play for England, it is what it is.
@thrilla725 ай бұрын
@@jazzoj5 Yes, he had been around for years before England called him up, it was only when Ghana enquired. Like I said, I knew he would barely play after that but I'm sure England told him that he'd be a regular

Why are we playing Jude 10 when we've got about 3 different players who can play there comfortably and are doing so at top level in Palmer and Foden, Bellingham could easily play the roll Kalvin Phillips did in the last tournament alongside Rice, my worry is the players are so burnt out from them first 2 games because we got the tactics wrong that if we get to the back end of the tournament the players are gonna be shot.

Palmer winger. Foden played 9 games at cam this season. You know nothing
@DanielJ0965 ай бұрын
@@rajimus Eze, Palmer? The most dangerous Foden has looked in the 2 games is when he received the ball in the middle of the pitch he was shocking on the left what are you talking about?

Was I the only one who noticed the team in the last game was a bit divided in the sense that half of those playersd were playing for the coach and the rest weren't I've seen it with united , it's clear to see players not buying into the manager's plan if yo pay attention, I doubt bellingham after being coached by ancelotti thinks southgate is the guy to let them win. last minute winners and moments can only carry you for so long, RAGNICK IS COOKING WITH AUSTRIA, AUSTRIA . and southgate is too cowardly and clueless to get a consistent run of performances from england

Southgate would’ve been the perfect assistant manager or back room staff for England in terms of bringing the squad together, but he’s not a leader or tactician and it’s beginning to look like he doesn’t know what he’s doing which many of us have been saying for awhile now. It’s ugly to watch

Didnt Baggio get put in hospital couple nights ago? Someone broke into his house while he was watching football with his family and got beat up pretty bad apparently.

most or some players benefit from the tactics played every game every team. England though can't name one player who benefits from the Mr Safegate tactics.
