@@rommix0 It's funny how dramatically that image changed within thirty years. By 1983 tons of Americans regarded anything from Japan (technology, fashion, etc.) as cool, and lots of pop culture assumed that by the 2000s Japan would surpass the US economically.

Funny I had this tune in my head this morning, remembering this original 78RPM record of my childhood. I didn't think it would be possible to find it, but here it is! Wonderful stuff. As a kid in the 50s and 60s I knew all the words. I don't regard it as racist... I think it's just fun. Racism doesn't mean anything in my world, only that people who are offended have their own inner work to do. I had the 78RPM record until about 12 years ago when I left it in Spain along with nearly everything else I owned. Thanks Randy for uploading this gem to youtube.

Also keep in mind that this song was only a few years after the end of WWII, so the nation was healing from Pearl Harbor...this fun song probably helped them move on from the pain. So many lost in such a violent struggle. We just loved, "Hey Joe, what'ya know, what are a-cookin' in Tokyo...that's just plain old funny stuff. Fun rhyming as well!!!
