I like baked beans, its just such an odd food to be transfixed on, or eat by itself. It should be side. I guess since they are claiming they are healthy, their version of baked beans is different. In the US there is probably more sugar in most types of baked beans than there is in most desserts.

About 5% sugar in the UK and about 20% sugar in the US it looks like from googling. Even so, just because they have lots of sugar doesn't stop there being lots of good fibre too.

If by "healthy" you mean low in calories then sure, they're not, but if you mean "healthy" to mean full of protein, fibre and nutrients then yes they are. They'd be healthy for someone who works out a lot as long as they stay under their calorie budget.

Why do they think Americans don’t eat baked beans? I’ve heard this several times now. Any grocery store in America has an entire bean section with many types of baked beans. Beans make up a large part of my diet. I eat beans damn near every day.
