Dude, Mel Gibsons Hamlet was dog shit BEFORE he was discovered as a racist prick. Kenneth Branagh’s Hamlet is THE superior film Hamlet on film to date and shows you exactly why he was hired for Thor. I seriously recommend it, regardless of how long it is. Its the only film I saw in theater with an actual intermission, but it was worth it. Hell its got Kate Winslet, and FUCKING ROBIN WILLIAMS! Do yourself a favor lads & give it a watch. It makes Mel’s look like trash by comparison. Lol

This is my least favorite Harry Potter film and I stupidly watched the director's cut which is total bullshit, shouldn't exist because it pads the film out another like 25 minutes. It's so unnecessary. I don't think this film is particularly good. I think the mystery is rather boring, the reveals are awful and I don't give a fuck about Dobby. I find Dobby to be more annoying than even Jar Jar Binks. I disliked this film so much that when it came out I thought "well I'm never watching another one of these"

vinícius bastos yeah Azkaban was basically open world within Hogwarts. You could even fly Buckbeak around and go pretty much anywhere and there was puzzles and secrets everywhere. In Goblet of Fire they completely changed it to this weird kind of fixed camera thing that was mostly combat based. Basically they took away everything that made the first 3 games great

I don't know why but it always bothered me that they changed the fact that Hermione knew about the term Mudblood because in the books she didn't know it was offensive and Ron and Hagrid had to explain it to her and Harry. Also that they left out Professor Binns and the entirety of History of Magic

Most of Tims complaints come down to not getting on board with the films worldview. The Harry Potter movies are created to reflect the outlook of the kids as they age. They become less and less fairytale like as they progress. Think back to how you viewed adults in your youth. You'll notice that the first two movies feel like elementary school, the third and fourth feel like junior high and early highschool and the rest start to bleed together. The stories are child like to get the viewer to reconnect with their own childhood. I can say for myself, they absolutely succeeded in doing that.

One thing from the books to screen they didn't explore enough was Harry being conflicted with potentially being a Slytherin. When he even asked the Sorting Hat if he belong and it replied "I was right. You'd do great things as a Slytherin" in the movie he says "No I wouldn't" or something similar. But in the books he still feels like he could have been a Slytherin and related to Salazar.

Kind of weird that Barrett said he has to drill down and get nitpicky with the book-to-movie differences when he didn't even mention a fairly large omission - the Death Day party. It's probably the worst part of the whole book, and wholly unnecessary, so it was rightfully cut from the movie. But that's an entire chapter that doesn't even get referenced in the movie. This is probably the worst movie, in my opinion. Mainly because I think it's also the worst book. It's not bad, but it's the worst comparatively. Something funny is that my mom, who enjoys Harry Potter, has still never been able to see this movie in its entirety without falling asleep. She's seen all of the movies, and read all of the books multiple times - so it's not that she doesn't like the series. But for whatever reason, every time she tries to watch this movie, she falls asleep.

Back again! Yes, you're correct about a past member of the Potter family creating the Skele-Gro potion. It was created by a man named Linfred of Stinchcombe, who's also the creator of the well known Pepper-up Potion we see used in the Harry Potter books. And later on after that, another member of the family named Fleamont made even more gold by creating Sleekeazy's Hair Potion, a widely popular beauty product used by people such as Gilderoy Lockhart and Hermione Granger (on the night of the Yule Ball when she made herself look all sexy and shit). 🤟🏻🤣 #HogwartsIsMyHome #ProudSlytherin 🐍⚡ P.S. The Phoenix, Fawkes, who flies Harry, Ron, Ginny and Gilderoy out of the cave may have seemed ridiculous and unbelievable that they'd all have the strength for that, but in the books, it is explained that because Fawkes is a magical creature, one of his cool abilities (and the reason Dumbledore states that a Phoenix can carry 'immensely heavy loads') is that anything it grabs or tries to carry becomes incredibly lighter than it really is. Because, magic. 🤟🏻🤣 P.S.S. That line you kept talking about where fuckboy Lucius says, "Let's hope Mr Potter will always be around to save the day" and then Harry gives that 'screw you, bitch' response of, "Don't worry... I will be". That was actually improvised by Daniel Radcliffe on set during filming. I believe Harry wasn't supposed to say shit after, but the kid just spit it out like a badass, and they decided to use it. 🤟🏻 #HarryIsABoss

If I recall correctly, the book has a key difference in the all important sock scene. The diary is smaller and Harry puts the diary in his sock so Malfoy tosses the sock aside to see what’s in it. Doby catches the tossed sock which feels like less of a technicality to me.

The kids duelled because Lockhart was afraid/couldn’t fight off Snape. Also Dobby enchanted the bludger. Dobby is an elf and has special magic. Harry didn’t know he could speak to snakes that is why he didn’t tell Dumbledor. This is the first film where you start to see parallels between Voldemort and Harry.

In danish, Tom riddle is dubbed to Romeo Gåde (Gåde=riddle in danish) but when the writing scene comes he writes Tom Riddle. They then call him Tom in the 5th movie. Also in the danish version books the name is changed from Tom Marvolo Riddle to "Romeo Ditlev Gåde" and then they just state that he changes those words to mean Voldemort. They then forget to translate the name in the book on various occasions so that it's really hard to figure out what he's actually called

Despite what happens in POA and GOF and the others, I still find this one the most creepy, the tone is very off putting throughout. The history of Hogwarts and Salazar, the random killings and Aragorn or whatever the hell the huge ass spider is called plus never mind the actual bassilsk being shown in its dungeon, oh and the creepy Diagorn Alley with the hand and the creepy shop... so creepy. A solid HP movie that mostly acts as a set up for future events, 7.5/10. Also this is my favourite in review to date by far... but really I most anticipate the eventual Tolkein universe in review!
