The series transforms from fantastical kids films into movies for young adults very well. It was intended as a series that people were supposed to grow up with which is why it gets more mature later on (as the characters get older so does the viewer). They confront themes like discrimination, death, injustice and young romance. I might suggest reading some of the books also as they are really good. Maybe check out some of the films on your own before showing them to your daughter to decide what's appropriate. There's quite a dramatic shift in tone from the third film onwards. The fourth film was the one I actually found scariest when I was younger, the ending really sets up the way the series will carry itself until the end. Love the channel btw, keep it up 👍🏼

I've been reading the books and watching the series with my daughters ages 7 & 9. The books have so much more character development and helps kids to consider relationships. We completed books 1 thru 4. I only went so far because other children were spoiling the story.

Now we're taking a little break before we jump into The Order of the Phoenix. The series definitely changes and becomes a brand new story books 5 to 7.

Thank you for your insight. We are trying the books again with my 9yo soon. She was upset a couple of years back by Harry's backstory (parent's death) and we had to shelve them for a while. I think she may be able to start reading them again. Cheers and thanks.

incredible review of the first movie. the first two movies are very lighthearted and family fun! but, the 3rd movie and beyond are much more dark

Great video with such a little audience i hope you get more view than this. Btw i think darknes scale goes up like 1,2,3,6,5,4,7,8 in the movies so you could be extra careful with 4th movie (especially towards the end starting with maze scene)

Don't you worry about her having a crush on Daniel Radcliffe, Tom Felton is the one you need to watch out for.. if he isn't her secret crush already.. by movie 3 he will be.😏 We girls all went trough it, it's a right of passage.. I'm talking from first hand experience here.😅😂
