I like Harry, he's such a down to earth fella, i once watched him on the television and he said all he needed was a television, couch, and the racing paper what a man.

I thought harry should have got the England job... but instead they gave it to roy hodgson..i thought harry would have been perfect for England at that time

Harry and Brian clough.. both should have been England manager in their era, the best England had and.the fans wanted them, which isn’t always the case for an England manager. The only problem was the powers that be, whoever was in charge didn’t want them because they were too outspoken, they would have said it how it is and maybe have been hard too control. The top brass at the fa at the time were upper class and well to do, quite the opposite of Harry and cloughy. Looking back it feels a shame we never saw either of them in the job. I think it would have been quite something. The fans would have been with them from the start, I’m certain they would have had the players respect and with both managers having, now infamous, man management skills, I’m sure they would both have gotten more out of the talent available in their time. Gareth Southgate has done a pretty good job and had reasonable success. Sure he hasn’t won anything but still not bad. He has a really good squad now and a great team but when he first came in it wasn’t quite the same. Southgate changed the atmosphere in the squad and brought the players together and what looks like a better place to be, players wanted to play for him. If Southgate can manage it, imagine what Harry and cloughy might have done? 0layers would have ran through walls for Brian clough and they would have brought the nation together. Instead we got hodgson and maclaren, two men who fitted in to the fa’s way of doing things! Shout to glen heddle who had a great team and he never should have been sacked. Conclusion.. the people in charge at the fa and the decisions they made really could have cost the nation success and at the very least quite a ride in two different eras.

@@TRSD1023 i support Gareth unlike some and i respect the job he's done he's done a fine job in a position that's not easy but if he wants another crack at the world cup he's got to win the euros... he's got the squad he's got the experience both him and the players and more importantly he's got jude Bellingham the finest most outstanding talent since Paul Gascoigne... it's now or never for Gareth even he surely knows that

During the naughties I grew up in Brentwood, Essex and I had the unpleasant experience of meeting Ruddock. I think it was around 2006, early evening, and I was walking into the Brentwood Centre and, at the beginning of the walkway , he had parked his BMW - speaking with two hoodies through his car window. Not to be perturbed, I carried on walking. I had my earphones on blazing full whack but i heard a voice through them. He was shouting something at me, and as I turned , got a full hit of weed in my nostrils. Confused, I saw him laughing with these two hoodies, so I carried on walking and told security at reception that there was a drug deal taking place on their premises. They checked it out and called the police - I’m not sure afterwards but I hope he was arrested. I also met Dennis Wise and Vinny Jones at Sam’s Nightclub. Vinny was vile and threatened me when his group moved onto a sofa , my missies and me was sitting on. Finally, I met Teddy Sheringham at The Bluebell in Chigwell - lovely guy and had a nice conversation with him over Euro 96 . I got the impression he genuinely loved playing for England 😎
