I’ve been a fan of many, many musical stars in my 74 years. Sometimes they come and then they go. But, sometimes they stay and those are the ones that change and grow and are so creative with their music. I think Elvis was probably the exception to that because he really didn’t change much over the years. However, there is so much competition in the music world these days I think that an artist must have an incredible amount of things going on for them to stay on top of the charts. Personally, I believe that Harry is very serious and knowledgeable about music. He has creative ideas about what he wants to make and he’s so excited about it. I believe that Harry is a musical icon and will still be growing and creating music at the very top long after I’m gone. Harry’s House is just so incredible! Every time I listen to it I discover more layers to the songs and Harry is just a poet with his lyrics these days. I didn’t have any expectations about the album I justI knew it was going to be special because that’s just the way Harry works. I don’t think those who say it’s boring, etc. are really listening. I had never been to any concert period. When I heard he was coming to my state for the first time I knew I had to be there. I’m not a spring chick so this was a wild experience for me, from going online to get a ticket to hiring a chauffeur and booking a room, well I did it and made it to the LOT concert. I was clueless about everything but met some young ladies who swore that they were going to see to it that I had a fabulous time. We stood in line for 2 hours and everyone was just so nice and we were all excited, yes old women can get excited! When we got inside the girls took me right to my seat which turned out to be the bottom tier second row right in front of the runway and incredibly their seats were at the end of my row. I can not describe how incredible the atmosphere was at his concert. I’ve never been anywhere where thousands of people were so happy and nice. And Mitch played his solo right at the end of the runway in front of me. I was just screaming like the girls around me. I will never forget it and Harry Styles is going to be a living legend for his music, humility and kindness, style and unbelievable ability to control a crowd of thousands like he possesses some kind of magic.I only wish I could see him perform Harry’s House live! It would be a massive high for me to see him perform his magic again!

In my book this is Harry’s best album. Just the overall vibe is so cool and relax. It’s easy to see that he is having the time of his life. It’s gonna be playing in my car, my backyard all summer. Harry is becoming a master of all genres. This cover of Wet dream is probably his best. Up there with Ultralight beam.

Steven Wet Leg have been chosen by Harry to tour with him, that is probably why he chose one of their songs, I think he felt this one fitted right in with the cheekiness of his album. I agree about David Bowie, but You should check out videos of Rod Stewart in the 70s, exactly like Harry, nail varnish, pearls/beads the clothes, Rod was an icon of the 70s, you couldn't see my bedroom wall for his photos (no social media then) I love Harry's House, I've been waiting for my vinyl since Friday(in the UK) hope it come tomorrow 🥰

I’m a recent Harry fan. Started with his cover of Sledgehammer a couple of months ago. Then a huge deep dive into all things Harry and 1D. I love Harry’s House! Wasn’t sure I would based off As It Was. It took several listens of that song before I really liked it. Actually cried after the full impact of the lyrics hit me. Even more after listening to the Zane Lowe interview. The pandemic hit us all hard. I loved both HS1 and HS2 …both very different albums. I was apprehensive that I wouldn’t like Harry’s House. Have not been able to stop listening to it. The Zane Lowe interview definitely helped me keep an open mind. Can’t listen to Matilda without crying yet. I don’t understand the reviews that say it’s boring or the lyrics are simplistic. Did not expect to love it as much as I do. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve listened to it. And to top it off,the cover of this song is Awesome. The original is pretty good. I think I read Wet Leg is touring with Harry in Australia. I listened to their album on Apple Music. They’re lyrics make you laugh. Harry House lifts the gloom off of some of these very depressing days in the world. It’s the album I didn’t know I needed.

Trust Harry to sell every song to haters at his live shows. Its quite true that the fandom was not expecting this electronic, funky, disco like house of Harry's and took a hot minute to digest that fact and then really give the album several listenings.

I love the album. It gets better. Unfortunately some ppl like to hate on artists and although harry is so very charming and likeable, I'm beginning to see a bit more of that towards him. On the other hand, I see a lot of new ppl becoming fans. 🤩

Sadly I've noticed that too. The more popular/in the news an artist becomes the more hate I see. Been noticing a lot more hate thrown towards Harry especially recently since his face is everywhere but hopefully once he starts tour and is doing his thing again away from media, things will die back down. But just like you said, there are a lot more fans too (especially seen a wider age range) so at least that is a positive aspect to focus on!

HH is the most all-round and cohesive album of his so far imo. I enjoy every track without feeling like “Maybe, I’m gonna like it after a few more listen”. The whole album is very pleasing to my ears and makes me see through him more as a human being than the previous two albums did. With that being said, I can’t deny that this album doesn’t have that kind of peak song that makes me feel like “Oh, this is gonna be the song that reminds people of him after 30 years from now” sth like that, which I might be wrong because I feel like it’s rare to find today artists who can make the track like Music for Sushi Restaurant or Matilda.

My favorite genre Harry does will always be that more rock style like HS1 and covers like this, however that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy when he explores other genres and sounds. And I think the people who didn’t enjoy Harry’s House as much as other albums didn’t pick up on how much fun Harry clearly had when making the album. All I could think of on first listen was damn that sounds like he had the best time just playing with his voice, exploring new things, and making music… you could tell he really felt free, that he could make whatever he wanted to and that’s what makes Harry’s House so good

Hi Steven! Just wanted to say thank you for creating such a safe and open minded space. I love your discussions about music, the artists, and life in general. I agree with you, people had such high expectations for this album when Harry was just doing his own thing and catering to himself. Harry doesn't care what the public has to say about him or his music; he's just going to keep being his authentic self and doing what he loves. That is what I like the most; people are way too serious over something intended for fun. Overall, I enjoyed Harry's House! I think the people who weren't satisfied were looking for more of the commercial sounds from Fine Line or the rock sounds from HS1. Will always love when Harry goes more rock but it's also nice to hear these different sides of him. Production/Lyrically I think this was his best album and he had a good amount of catchy tunes plus some touching moments. It just makes me excited to see where he goes next! Edit: Also, watching the Apple Live stream when Harry performed Harry's House top to bottom it elevated the album even more! The recordings are great but once Harry performs live it just hits another level! Highly suggest watching/reacting to the Apple Stream if you get the chance - there is an encore May 26th.

Harry’s House for me just gets better on every listen. It’s an album, to me, you have to lean into and go with and then different aspects really open up. There’s some real complex moments like in Grapejuice, Satellite, & Cinema that took me a few listens and now- can’t get enough 😍 He gave a lot of special sounds and changes to his voice that I AM HERE FOR! This album live is gonna be epic and I don’t throw that word around. I’m crashing at Harry House for a long while. Oh, and I completely agree with your Bowie take. There’s that level of cool and confidence without even trying….just on auto.

When I first listened to As It Was, I came away from it kind of like… huh. That was fine. But then it grew and grew. Harry’s House was the same for me. First listen it was fine, nothing in particular jumped out at me. On the second listen it hooked me. I think it’s definitely a grower of an album and I hope some of the people who were initially disappointed will take some time to sit with it. Fine line was such an album for big commercial singles and I loved that, so Harry’s house felt like a bit of a shock to the system. But once I got past my own expectations I started to really enjoy it. Now, I don’t know if I have a favourite Harry album, they’re all great for different reasons.

I agree, Fine Line from beginning to end was perfect. It had just the right amount of rock, funk, and pizzazz. It was classy and sexy. Just him, and my kind of sound. This record, I like it... it's okay, and I have favorites on there lyrically. The sound however, it's a little less acoustic and more eighties I think. I'm a little partial to the sound, but I think I know why he did it and it's kind of genius so...

i'm so in love with this cover and my immediate thought was i wanted to see your reaction so i'm so happy you did this so quickly haha. loved this video! and i completely agree with you on harry's house - i've been a huge huge fan since 2013 and this is my favourite album of his, it's exactly what i expected from hs3 but even better! i find the adverse reactions to it bizarre lol but what i will say is that when harry polarises opinions like this, i feel it comes down to certain people having preconceived notions about who he is and not really actually 'getting' him. and along with that, fine line/watermelon sugar attracted a new, more mainstream audience that again, really only want to see one sort of thing. i also think that if you're the sort of person who looks at music on a surface level you might not get this album, i can see how then it could seem generic (also if you're a more casual fan/not a fan, bc he's making a lot of references/metaphors that are going over people's heads). if you're able to do a sort of deeper reading of it (and/or if you sit with it) i think it's easier to understand what he's doing. and all the fans i surround myself with who actually understand harry absolutely adore this entire album, which takes me back to my first point. people can have their opinions, i'm just gonna think they don't actually know harry lol, and like you said - they don't have to stay :)

@Steven In Stereo Dear Steven, I love your reactions and I share your enthusiasm for Harry and his amazing band. I listened to the whole album several times through headphones and the album is really great. Some songs I liked more, others less. But luckily, I had the opportunity to watch a live performance of Harry's House from NYC (also through headphones), which was immediately blocked by youtube. And I can tell you that I was absolutely thrilled and in euphoria. And suddenly I liked the whole album. Of course, this is enhanced by Harry's presence and the amazing chemistry with the band, which as always was fantastic. And when you see Harry singing those songs, you basically look at the album through Harry's eyes and experience it with him. He added something with Fine line and finished it kiwi. It was breathtaking. Everyone should listen to the live version and only then get a real picture of the album. The door of Harry's house is open, whoever wants to come in , is welcome. Who does not want, let him continue on I Wish you all the best, hello

This album is one of my favourite it really shows the real Harry, is what he always wanted to make and I'm so proud of him, everybody can think whatever they want of course and I think he did the best thing to put out the music that he loves the most and he felt free to be himself, it's like he invitend all of us in his house and said "you're welcome to my house, this is my music I hope you'll like and if not don't worry you're free to not to enter" and again I'm so proud of him, he relly found himself and his music❤

I LOVE the album. I think that may just be some parts of Twitter (not my parts😜) what I’ve seen is a lot of non stans loving on his music and most reactions videos have been positive. What’s been really interesting is watching some people love some songs and are meh on others and than others those are their absolute favorite. Other than Matilda, I haven’t seen one song be really consistently faved or consistently not. Almost every song has I’ve seen towards the top of someone’s favorites and the bottom of other. I think that’s a good sign actually. And as people listen to it more or watch it live, I think most will be won over. But the reviews (and sales!) have been excellent so I’m ignoring the ones who just want more of the same.

I absolutely adore Harry's House. I haven't listened to anything else since it came out, tbh. Like you said, I kind of always expect new and interesting stuff from Harry. He's the king of evolution when it comes to his sound, which is one reason I love him. I also think that between the Boyfriends performance at Coachella, As It Was in its entirety, and the way Harry himself spoke about/promoted this album, anyone expecting it to sound like his previous work wasn't really picking up what was being put down (so to speak).

Just FYI, Fine Line was released a couple of months before the pandemic. Just because I have heard this a few times now and I think he did things like live lounge, right? Obviously, then the tour didnt happen, so he kind of had to stop doing something with Fine Line.😀

Honey, you might be running with wrong crowd, some people hate the album because it doesn't fit their little theories)) true harries adore HsH, pros loved the album, most importantly, Harry's so happy to play it and it's all that matters. Oh, and it is currently doing insanely well stream-wise and sales-wise! We'll have to see if it has the longevity of Fine Line but it's pretty impressive so far))

I like the album, HS1 is still my fave of his discography. I think lyrically this isn't his strongest, and whilst I think that was his aim - to delve into the musicality, it feels very male gazy, which makes sense, but the other albums didn't so much? Sonically there's a lot of similarities, so I can see how it could feel boring. Not concentrating on all the lyrics though - the album's a jam

How about we stop comparing Harry Styles to other artist. He is Harry Styles and has been since he was 16. And I think it is important to give Harry the credit for the Band. remember he put his Band together for each tour based on the music he created. If you watch he's brings on different individual musicians for his performances for example look at the Grammy performance. A totally different group so while I appreciate you talking about the Band just remember Harry will switch out musicians at any time. He hires them and I understand there is a long line of musicians lining up begging for a spot.
