Totally agree. I wear them around the house and perhaps to pop out for a quick errand. All of these will look tacky when it is overdone, as you say less is more. Also it has to be styled properly and mixing/matching casual and formal helps. What do you think of Japanese heritage brands
@zEeoN6 күн бұрын
I don’t mind any of these really, so long as your designer stuff is NOT fake. That’s kind of where I draw the line. But honestly, the supposed understatement of not branding things too much with logos is all the same so long as everybody STILL knows what you are wearing at a glance. Also, think about it this way: how are you not wearing large branding pieces when you actually wear band T-shirts? The dislike, in my opinion, currently says more about the state of the industry, capitalism, and inequality than it does about the clothing on its own. I do enjoy branded pieces the same way I enjoy animal print - get a loud one in there, you are good. Drown in combos of these pieces? Probably tone it down. That said, I actually own the exact gucci slides you showed there and it broke my heart man. To be fair, they are for vacation/resort use though…

Animal print fine in very small amounts, but I don’t currently have in. Neon in small amounts in certain locations-say, swimwear if you happen to be in Miami, or maybe one item with otherwise all white (I think I lace some pink socks). I generally (but not 100%) avoid clothing with words on, so I rarely wear graphic tees, but I think they’re fine as long as they represent something you have a real interest in (band tee for your favorite band, sure; band you don’t listen to, not so much). I own one pair of distressed jeans (I did the distressing myself) and often wear them on a Saturday but wouldn’t wear them to work or anything like that. Ripped jeans done right can look cool, but I hate the ones with knees cut out-knees are possibly the least attractive feature of the human anatomy. Hate tees with designer names; to me their message is “I can’t afford to wear the brand, but I like to give them free advertising.” Suits-well, I don’t much like them anyway… maybe very slightly oversized because I hate tight clothing, but it could easily go very badly wrong.

Ripped or workwear worn as fashion is one I cant stand. It's like people are walking around role playing as someone who works a labor intensive job. I see it no different than people who dress liek they're in the military when they're not.

How do you know they don’t work in those fields unless you ask? Also, how do you know when the distressing is natural or not? I don’t see why it matters so much to others
@Plague_Doc226 күн бұрын
@@HarryHas It is generally quite apparent as physical labor builds your body in certain ways. Like bigger forearms and so on. I just generall dont like it when people want to dress as if they're doing something that is really hard work. Almost feels like mocking it in a way to me, not sure why. Natural distressing tends to actually look, you guessed it more natural lol. A lot of the pre ripped clothes for example have high wear spots that sometimes makes no sense. Or there's a lack of distressing around the area and it feels more calculated as to where they placed it.
