Probably the most unusual German WW II vehicle. I almost purchased one of the HobbyBoss kits in 2008, but then decided to go for the M4 High Speed Tractor. Maybe I'll correct that "mistake" next year, but not before I made the mistake again, hehehe! I never built the tractor but gave it away. These HobbyBoss kits are really nice and prices are rather reasonable. I take it you really recommend this one! Very cool way of making your own fenders! I'll keep that in mind for further use! Oh, and the correct translation is "land-water tractor". :)

I finally got around to this kit myself for an Armorama campaign this morning, and really needed this video. While I would have shied away from the cost of a resin bumper myself, at least it wasn't made of something like Dragon's DS nonsense.

Nice model Harry, really looks clean. Paint it really is going to make it look great. Made a paper model ship from scratch and used white glue and thread for hand rails
@HarryHoudiniModels6 жыл бұрын
Those paper models look like fun and the ones I have seen are a nice 1:200 scale. Maybe one day I will tackle one. I’ve used brass wire for posts and Ezyline for the hand rails on my 1:144 Submarines...

Harry, great format for running through the build. It can sometimes get a little boring watching lots of the time lapse stuff or watching the reviewer record every element of the build. Here you're covering all the important points and we get to enjoy the dulcet tones and dry wit of Harry Houdini.

The Land Waffle Sniffer has a painted map of OZ on it's hull (middle), it even seems to have a map of Tassie (snicker, snicker) on it. When I live in Cairns (lived there 20 something years) we used to visit Kuranda (it used to be a "hippie" community about 1/2 an hour up on the tablelands) they had a nature park that had an Army Duck which was a WWII 6 wheel amphibious vehicle and they had tours which drove you around the park and even into the water. It was amazing. The Duck was a mod of the CCKW truck. For more info: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DUKW. Nice video Harry.

I will have to check out that map of Tassie! Know Kuranda well, I designed an audio visual for the train from Cairns, last decade.

@@HarryHoudiniModels Where the heck did you get those weighted forceps (I think that was the medical name you were looking for)? They look very handy. I forgot you told me that you lived up Cairns way. I think you and I have a similar history (being Queenslanders). We may have even crossed paths at some stage. I was a scout too and got knotted too (the bunny goes around the back and back through under its tail).

Another well done video Double H ! I will definitely use your link cleaning method for the indi links on my Hobby Boss T-26, T-38, T-37, T-20 Komsomolets and Komsomolets ZIS-30 sp . Obsession , what obsession? I have an Italeri DUKW that I may use your bumper method for . The kit has plastic bumpers for the corners . Not too bad , but I like yours better . I've noticed in your posts that you've been using the Frankenstein thermometer readings and both metric and correct measurement systems in the video . Any reason for that or just how it's been coming out ? And , lastly , before my pen runs out of ink or you fall asleep reading this tripe . Speaking of liking a good tug , the opening ad for Fabletics women's athletic tights certainly made for a well pounded viewing experience ! 😀

I grew up with a 100 being a hot day... some how 38 Celsius just doesn’t seem as dramatic. As for feet and inches, it also sounds better to say a foot or yard long! Plus half my audience are Yanks and they don’t know the rest of us are metric yet. I kind of have a food in both systems being born imperial then becoming metric when Australia changed over in the 1970’s. I may have to search for that advert. Since leaving broadcast TV and the advent of online streaming, I don’t watch the adverts anymore.

Most of my WNW kits were bargains... I have been lucky to find some in deceased estate sales and overseas where the seller had no idea of their value. Many I bought for half or even a third the retail price, but I never pay those bloated Ebay prices. Although I did sell my Gotha, when I realised it was simply too big, and was surprisingly offered nearly 3 times what I paid for it!
@vo1non2 жыл бұрын
I’m building this right now… and I’m not impressed. The first problem I noticed was both rubber tracks were too short. I had to soak them in very hot water after tying the the ends with thread. At least they held. The kit isn’t horrible, but I grew up on Tamiya, and I’ve been spoiled. I’m about half finished, and it’s getting better. Great subject matter, though. I’m sure when it’s completely done I’ll be happy.
