I think many of these strong, unique female singers, Blondie, Alison Moyet, Siouxsie, Tracey Chapman, Tori Amos....have all shaped me as a moral rebel. These women kicked ass and because if them, I refuse to be a victim and speak my mind. Thanks Siouxsie for being your primal, authentic self.

Siouxsie is one of the nicest person I have met....when she toured as the creatures inmet her when she did an interview at 99.1 hfs in DC ...and she invited us to tower records for the promotional signing of the new album...we got in line just like everyone else ..and she greeted us like old friends ....a few months later we saw them at the 930 club in DC and she remembered us ....we were amazed ....and then one of the merchandise sellers invited us to the next show ....we ended up seeing them in DC/ philly / Boston / providence / Chicago/ and Detroit ....we slept on the tour bus ...and they always made sure we had a place to park my car between the bus and truck....she gave me memories that I will never ever forget ......so siouxsie and budgie have a very special place in my life ..... Saw the deal made for the Depeche mode tour ..and got guest listed for the entire tour even though we weren't able to make most of the shows but we did an after party with them...we ended up meeting and going to amny other shows but none can ever compare to Siouxsie.....

Siouxie is fierce. A strong woman with presence I admired her In my teen years and up, always thought she was cool and pretty and had a beautiful voice and she could dance and had "presence." In the sharp gust of love my memory stirred When time wreathed a rose a garland of shame It's thorn my only delight war torn Afraid to speak, we dare to breathe Majestic, imperial a bridge of sighs Solitude sails in a wave of forgiveness On angels wings Reach out your hands, don't turn your back Don't walk away How in the world, can I wish for this? Never to be torn apart Close to you 'till the last beat of my heart At the close of day the sunset cloaks These words in shadow play Here and now, long and loud My heart cries out And the naked bone of an echo says Don't walk away Reach out your hands I'm just a step away How in the world can I wish for this? Never to be torn apart Close to you till the last beat of my heart How in the world can I wish for this? Never to be torn apart till the last beat Till the last fleeting beat of my heart

"The Last Beat of My Heart" is a song written, produced and recorded by English rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees. It was released in late 1988 as the third and final single from the band's ninth studio album Peepshow. The song is a ballad with strings and accordion. Sioux's vocals address a lover who is leaving a relationship, as she asks for him to return to her. She declares her desire to be "close to you til the last beat of my heart". The single was described in a review as "a swirling, smouldering masterpiece which will capture your ticker within the first few moments and hold it fluttering in awe. With a ghostly accordion adding to the building power, Siouxsie's hypnotic voice is just unnerving enough to delight. A true gem." Several musicians later praised the song. DeVotchKa covered it on their 2006 EP Curse Your Little Heart and The Decemberists qualified it as one of their favourite Siouxsie and the Banshees songs.[1] The Flowers of Hell released a version on their 2012 album Odes, on which they cover their influences.[2] "The Last Beat of My Heart" reached number 44 in the UK singles chart in December 1988. Upon its inclusion on the 1992 compilation album Twice Upon a Time: The Singles, a live recording of the song from 1991 replaced the single version.

Siouxisie carries an extra heavy load being so incredibly talented and ravishingly beautiful. I wouldn't care if she was ugly as sin, because what comes from her mouth and her mind is ravishingly beautiful. And the banshees are immensely innovative, and bring it all to life, especially Budgie's atypical drumming.

What a great version of a great song from a great album, released just a few years before, this bringing back for me such great memories. Classic Siouxsie and the Banshees!

Siouxsie is the Queen! That or a gypsy princess. One of those songs I have been listening to every day for whatever reason.
