In the Prisoner of Azkaban, Hermione plainly stated that Professor Mcgonagall had to write "all sorts of letters swearing that Hermione was a model student and would never misuse the time turner". I find it unlikely that professor Mcgonagall would not know about it as she was responsible for Hermione's schedule. As for being familiar with aspects of the hall of mysteries, it's likely that she would have had to go there with professor Mcgonagall to receive it.

I think it's seems legit, with one of her parents was a squib, otherwise how would her parents think when she got her letter from hogwarts and already knew about the school. Here is a line from the film (not sure if it was in the books) : "I read all about it Hogwarts: a history"

Wizards we’re so snobby they didn’t even bother to look into their squib children’s lives. Most were abandoned to live in the muggle world. Squibs marrying other squibs we’re going to produce magical children.

The time turner theory sounds interesting, but I don't think it stands at all. Firstly, Hermione might have occasionally broken the rules, but it was never for her own gain. It's very hard to think she would steal a time turner for herself, even to be able to study more. Secondly, keep in mind that Ron - Ron! - noticed that Hermione's schedule was weird and that she kept up popping all over the place (I admit I don't remember if the popping up was a book thing too or just in the movies, but the schedule thing was in the book). If Ron noticed, other people were sure to notice, especially the teachers. Among which, McGonagall. And while Dumbledore might have played fast and loose with the rules, McGonagall sure as hell didn't. Thirdly, I see nothing unusual about Hermione knowing about the time turners at the Ministry. If she received the time turner legally, she must have gone through a thorough screening process, and I doubt that was done by Dumbledore and McGonagall alone. So she most likely paid more than one visit to the specific department at the Ministry.

I once thought up a crackpot theory where I imagined Hermione is not actually contemporary to Harry and Ron, that she came from an apocalyptic future where Voldemort had won, and Hermione was part of a group of underground witches and wizards who are resisting Voldemort's regime, and they sent her back in time using a time turner to Harry's first year attending Hogwarts, so she could protect Harry and help him eventually defeat Voldemort.

For goodness sake? What is wrong with the idea that male and female people can actually be friends without romantic or family connections? I'm a straight guy, I have a lot of female friends, one in particular I do! consider to be "like!", a sister, but there is zero romantic feeling about them, and zero family relationship either. Luke and leya were both force sensative, so could pick up the connection even before they knew, but most people, just have to go on feelings. What the hell is wrong with this generation, and the idea of none sexual, none family related friendship? Makes me sort of sad for the world really.

No one says they can’t be friends. However, JK admitted that she only put Ron with Hermione because she didn’t want to write the classic “hero gets the girl” trope. That’s why in this instance it’s a problem. She wrote the 2 of them as closer than friends, because that’s what she originally wanted. Despite her changing her mind, her subconscious is going to leak through her original intent. Men and women can certainly be friends. I have one myself over 17 years, and we’re both happily married to others, and I have a daughter who loves her godmother. But, with Harry and Hermione, nah, they clearly had more interest in each other than just simple friendship, and I hate that JK went against herself just to satisfy being different. While we talk about wrong couples, can we please not ignore the tragedy of George and Angelina?! That is the most unhealthy relationship in the whole series! (If you ignore Voldermort and Bellatrix which I do as it’s not cannon).

There’s so many psychological traumas that they went through, and I don’t think anyone in their right mind finds it healthy that they got together.

A few years later, my now divorced brother started dating a girl who was a few months older than me, again she and my other brother became attracted to each other and married. They divorced a few years later. They both liked the women who were similar and just couldn’t be faithful. Both brothers married and divorced twice and have remained single for years now. Hermione's constant use of it during her third year meant that she was actually older by more than a normal amount by the end of that year than she would have been if she hadn't been using it. So Hermione was actually 17 (and therefore of age) well before the normal time would have been, and therefore would not have been guilty of using underage magic.

But the theory falls to the ground on the fact that Hermionie would be smart enough not to break dozens of laws by breaking into the ministerium of magic and thus risking her entire life and education just to be able to take a couple of more classes. And the time turner was not given to her to give her an advantage but because she was actually awarded best student of the year and highest average grades and wanted to take extra classes but needed more time to do so, but that only meant extra homework which as seen in the books stresses her out because its starting to become too much which increases the chances of getting a lower grade because you are stressed and starts to unfocus, also why would dumbledore on purpose help Hermionie break rules and laws that he also knew could cost her both her education her wand and possibly even a trip to Azkaban? Dumbledore liked to jest and prank, but no way he would risk an innocent students life just on a burglar job.

I suppose they could be more than nine months apart and still be in the same class, but it seems unlikely. The Dursleys never mentioned a niece but why would they. i always found 2 things odd in regards to hermione when reading the stories. I wouldn't say they are theories but in terms of the writing/story 1: that at such a young age, even if she was very academic, she was trusted with a time turner. I mean a muggle born with such a powerful magical tool that's normally hidden in the ministry of magic? it didn't make sense to me. It would have made a lot more sense to have a teacher have it and bring her along to get to her classes and at the end dumbledor could have given her the turner and say something like "I'm sure a smart girl like you realizes how to use it. Two should be enough." 2: that she was basically so "this can't be real/a thing/ etc" especially in book 7. I mean she was a muggle born raised on fairy tales and told that magics fake/pretend/etc and then suddenly learns that all sorts of stuff that was fake/pretend/etc turned out to be real and yet this one aspect of magic was to over the top? The fact that so much she was told about as being fake turned out to be real made it seem more weird that she was so against the possibility that other things thought of as fake, aka wizard fairy tales, CAN'T be real. i mean she saw what cant be real as being rule already. why is that the exception?

I think if there is an unobstructed way the object uses it. If the object used the straight way through everything Harry's firebolt would probably have been damaged when he summoned it from the dorm to the dragon arena. There is however also a spell which sends objects away. This one could be used.

Yeah the last theory is entirely plausible apart from the fact that at the start of the school McGonnagall had a meeting with Harry and Hermione (Harry because of the Dementor attack) but then Harry is asked to wait outside the office while McGonnagall talks to Hermione, you could probably explain the fact that she knew about the time turners being in there because she literally watched a death eater's head turn back into baby form over and over again, it probably would have also been in the Dailey Prophet , it's not the first time the Prophet reported things it wasn't meant to, after all, the Prophet isn't strictly part of the Ministry, they write what they want anyway

The Hermione homeless theory really only works as happening in the 5th book. She is supposed to spend Christmas skiing with her parents. She could easily have used going home to wipe their memories as adult wizards would be there collecting their children. Then she could have gone to Grimmauld Place where she eventually ends up. Other Theory: Hermione was imperiused by Dumbledore (Until before Half-Blood Prince). So In Philosopher Stone she leads Harry to the the stone like Dumbledore wanted (why that will be another theory). Also in following films she is a big help. Also how could she have known spells before Hogwarts as a muggle-born? Do they not get suprised by the letter like Harry.

I think the Time Turner is more likely her being given a scholarship(ish) thing for being an Unspeakable, given her study record and intelligence and Minerva being an insider/recruiter for them. I find that more understandable than Dumbledore giving her a reality breaker for studies. That is, if he did not know of Sirius' break out and innocence prior.

My personal theory on Muggle Born is they are in fact descended of witches and wizards. They're directly descended from squibs... in many ways she could have been related to Merlin or Rowena Ravenclaw due to her studious nature. I also thought the Weasleys were the descendants of Godric Gryffindor because they are all sorted into Gryffindor.

Since there’s only a thousand students at a time attending Hogwarts, there might be only about 10,000 wizards in Britain tops, so if you go back a couple generations every wizard or witch are probably in some way related to each other. I always took issue with her using obliviate on her parents, purely because that doesn't prevent them from being used against her to get to her. It made no sense. Memory or not they could still take them and use them as leverage against her despite the fact they have no memory of her, because she herself remembers rather than them.

For the 2nd theory in the video. Hermione does say in the book a line similar to "Her parents said she could come" . Or something along those lines, I believe in the Order of the Phoenix. I mean, she could be lying but this slightly disproves the theory.

Professor Mcgonagall wrote many letters to the ministry officials for granting Hermoine the Time turner and wrote specifically that she will use it only for educational purposes. She was also not the 1st to have it,atleast Barty crouch Jr.,Bill and Percy weasley also had it so it wasn't uncommon.

The theory about Harry and Hermione being siblings doesn't seem plausible, especially when JK Rowling said she considered having Harry and Hermione end up together before she decided to have Harry with Ginny and Hermione with Ron. Regarding the time turner, Hermione did say that McGonagall gave her the time turner and wrote all kinds of letters swearing that Hermione wasn't the kind of person to misuse the time turner. Plus McGonagall was the person who handed out the schedules, surely she would have noticed Hermione having two classes at the same time. Regarding Hermione "wiping" her parents memory in advance, how would she have gotten away with underage magic use. Remember that the Ministry of Magic reacted to Harry doing just that (using magic underage). The theory is plausible because Hermione spent every summer (from Prisoner of Azkaban on) with the Weasleys. Surely Hermione's parents would have wanted to spend time with their daughter during the summer once the school year was done.

Ron hung out with Harry much more than Hermione did in the story and logically when not part of the story, but they were not lovers or twins. You see children Long long ago in a land outside of your home, we used to have friends and we actually talked together and played indoor and outdoor games that didn't require wifi or a cell phone. We had what they called "a life". and everyone had one. So this part of the story begins in 1991, when 11 year old Harry first came to Hogwarts. So Harry had 11 years of fishing, playing monopoly, shooting hoops and reading books before he went to Hogwarts. By the time I was 11, I had many girls that were in the neighborhood or at school that we were fond of each other for a while as life is about feeling your way and working on your people skills. We didn't sit around dreaming about drag queens or spend a lot of time pulling for Johnny or Amber. Today is no different. I've spent a few hours out and about today, but I do spend way too much time using the internet This story starts out as a child's tale for children. But that's not what it's about at all as you've taken a very good child story and turned it into a political agenda.

I definitely don't agree with the time turner theory, McGonagall did know her schedule so she would have known that she was supposed to be in too many places at once. Besides I'm pretty sure that Percy would almost certainly have needed one as well due to how many subjects he took, and maybe other students too but they would have kept a close watch on them and probably had to be cleared with the ministry for each student that got one.

He didn't die from Expelliarmus. He cast Avada Kedavra at Harry, which rebounded at him when the wand in Harry's hand overpowered the one he had. He was hit by both spells.

I totally go with the 4th Theory. I not only believe that for Hermione but for all Muggle-Born Witches and Wizards. Whether it was a few years ago or hundreds of thousands of years ago, these ppl must've had atleast one or two Pure-Blood Witch/Wizard in their Bloodline. And most Importantly Hermione is better paired with Harry than Ron. But still love Ron though. Actually more than Harry, Emma Watson's Hermione will be better paired with me. There's not a HP fan who hasnt had a crush on her.

Hermione could not have modified her parents memory earlier, because she had thw trace on her. And her inteligence and acedemic acumen are from her parents qhoare both soctors o f dentistry. So she was probably pushed quite hard as a young child.
