7:47 But Cedric Diggory dies while Dumbledore was headmaster. Unless the theory is based on him only casting the protection on the physical Hogwarts castle and not it's grounds. Moaning Myrtle also died while he was headmaster but I guess he could have casted it after her death. Lastly, we know spells, curses, etc last after the caster's death so in this case there would have to be an explanation why it was lifted after Dumbledore died

The theory about Professor Snape's first words to Harry regarding Lilly Potter (Lilly Evans) being, "On Lilly's grave, I promise to protect you," fit so well with Professor Snape's path throughout the 8 movies. Meaning every time we thought Harry's life was 100% in danger (we being the audience) Professor Snape would in one way or another protect Harry or at the very least give advice on the best cause of action to Harry whether Harry picked up on the helpful advice from Professor Snape or not. Like the bezoar in the first book and movie, or Professor Snape preventing Quirrell from killing Harry during Harry's first Quidditch game. Or even Professor Snape's Doe patronus in the forest of Dean that lead Harry to the means of destroying horcruxes (the Sword of Godric Griffindor). Professor Snape (I believe) felt like he owed it to Lilly's memory to help her son and only child to survive as a tribute to Lilly who he loved so deeply, and I believe this to be backed up by Professor Dumbledor who said in Professor Snape's memory (that Professor Snape gives to Harry during the battle of Hogwarts before dying), "No one will know the best of you, Severus" but that's my opinion

I wonder if among his schemes and machinations if Dumbledore had somehow manipulated Dobby into protecting Harry? Because when you think about it why did Dobby feel compelled to help a complete stranger who his master had bad intentions with? Also I imagine he tried to keep Harry out of school that year in order to keep him out of danger as his mother's protective charm would only keep him safe as long as Harry is with the Dursleys. I'm sure once Dumbledore sorts out what malevolent plot Lucius was cooking up, he would find someway to get Harry back to Hogwarts in the following year.

Well, after Voldemort became mistymort when he failed at killing Harry, a lot of death eaters thought that maybe Harry was more powerful and would be the next wizard they flock to. I imagine the Malfoy's discussed this in their home. I mean, originally Draco attempted to befriend Harry. It could possibly be that Dobby had to deal with Voldemort before he became mistymort and was thankful for Harry seemingly destroying him. I'm sure there's a reason, but I don't think Dumbledore knew the Malfoy house elves.

Calling bullshit 2:14-2:18 “Ron is one of the most loyal people Harry had ever met.” Are we discounting the time Ron practically ended his friendship because Harry was chosen to compete in a tournament in which he didn’t actually enter? The issue is the books do not say that harry snaps the wand in half. He puts it back in it’s rightful place with AD at his place or rest. This way the wands “ownership” dies with harry and only the three know this fact. I thought that him ripping it in half was the biggest mistake they made in part 2 or episode 7.

It's a very long theory as it covers several points but I will hit the highlights. First off, Dumbledore is a powerful enough wizard he could customize his own version of the Fidelius that wouldn't require a secret keeper and wouldn't end until Harry was 17 even if Dumbledore, the caster was already dead. Second, everyone claims Voldemort can't touch him because of the love charm. Voldy himself claims this charm was old magic, but then why is it no pureblood ever used it before? The Bones Family, the McKinnon's, all wiped out instead. Surely a pureblood family would know about it. Why didn't the Blacks or Malfoys warn him about it? And, well, no one ever tried touching Harry. So, no one has proof Vildemort couldn't. Voldemort cast the killing curse at baby Harry from a distance. And he didn't touch Harry in the graveyard until after he took Harry's blood and believed he could. At the Battle of Hogwarts when Harry says he now can protect the others because he died for them, again it's not tested. The battle involving everyone ending in Death Eaters like Bellatrix doesn't happen till after Voldemort dies. But the what about Quirrel right? Harry burned him alive. But, at the time, Harry was holding the philosopher's stone. We are told it creates immortality and turns metals into gold...and OTHER powers. But the stone is destroyed and we're never told it's other powers. I believe it protects the person holding it. We never see Harry being touched by Voldemort when Harry's not holding the stone. He doesn't touch Harry in the graveyard until he already believes he can. Well then, why did his killing curse backfire when Harry was a baby if the sacrificial love didn't have exist? Because of Snape. Voldemort promised Snape he'd try to spare Lily. Yes, he gave her two chances to move and she refused. But, she was unarmed and the most powerful dark wizard ever. He could have just bound her or knocked her out. Yet, he lost his temper and killed her, thus breaking his promise to Snape and causing the curse to backfire.

@@katholmes7112 I think you mistake evidence for indicators. I don't think voldemort promised it to snape by giving an unbreakable vow. We don't know that. Why would a pureblood family know about protective love as a spell? If it's ancient chances are quite low and maybe wizards think it's some sort of tale to soften the minds about love. I don't understand how the stone refers to voldemort not touching harry

Didnt it get explained that voldemort looks more snake like when he resurrected due to 2 facts. 1 being for many years voldemort lived within Nagini until wormtail found them. And 2 the potion that wormtail and Nagini made to give him a frail body before the resurrection potion was made. While in the frail body he kills the care taker of his dads property and uses that kill to turn Nagini into a horicrux further binding him to Nagini in spirit, body and soul now.

@kaylapounds1359
@kaylapounds1359 Жыл бұрын
With regards to the theory on Harry being the master of death and that's why he came back and not just because the killing curse only hit Voldemort's soul. So it wasn't just the killing curse hitting Voldemort's soul only in Harry, it was the fact Voldemort took Harry's blood to resurrect himself in GOF. Because Voldemort did this, he unwittingly took the protection from Lily into him which would mean that Harry couldn't die while his blood with Lily's charm flows through another body. As SCB says, it was kinda like a love crux that tethered Harry to life and prevented his death. So that's why Harry himself survived the killing curse (like he did in the first place as a baby) and why only Voldemort's mangled soul piece got destroyed, as it didn't have the same protection because that soul piece came from Voldemort before he took in Harry's blood. So theoretically speaking if a death eater after Voldemort died hit Harry with the killing curse, he likely would've died then because the blood protection would no longer be in play.

Good theories for sure. My question about the master of death though. He didn't have possession of the elder wand until after voldimort. Yeah he might have been the true owner at that point but a wand is required to channel that power. So technically wouldn't that matter in that context? Not only that the stone was left in the woods before he took the curse. So realistically wasn't he in possession of the cloak only when he got killed?

Actually, the reason Harry survived was explained it was because Voldemort took Harry's blood in him so that kept Lily's sacrifice protection alive which kept Harry alive in turn. SCB called it a "love crux" which makes sense as that tethered Harry to life like the horcruxes tethered Voldemort to life. Theoretically, he could've been killed after Voldemort died if a death eater really tried. But I think the death eaters probably thought he was immortal since he survived 2 assassination attempts by the "greatest" dark wizard of all time.

Anyone can be the master of death. It's a literary technique Rowling uses a lot in the books. We often read about Harry "mastering his pain" or "mastering his impatience". In this context, mastering something is having complete emotional control. Being the master of death just means you aren't afraid to die.

Yes. Hermione restored her parent's identities after the battle. In the movie, she erased their memories of her so it was like they never had a child. In the books, Hermione modified their memories and identities so they were completely different people. Hermione changed their identies because Deatheaters could not look for people they don't know exists. Wendell and Monica Wilkins were unknown muggles among millions of other unknown muggles. That Hermione was able to do this - as a teenager no less - shows just how powerful of a witch she was.

Not quite. He didn't die because of the love magic. However the tale of the 3 brothers is often presumed to be a parallel of dumbledore, Harry and snape (some reckon Voldemort tho)

@@liamhemsworth5721 interesting, but like I said my theory is built upon Harry being Ignotus' heir and owner/possessor of The Invisibility Cloak which James passed on to Harry upon his birth knowing its true identity and powers from the knowledge passed down through the Potter's history, it makes more sense than Lilly's self sacrifice protecting Harry, b/c many parents had to of done the exact same thing for their children/loved ones, etc... And during The Deathly Hallows, Harry sacrificing himself after he gained possession of the 2 remaining Hallows extended it's protection/bolstered its power to cover everyone Harry wanted to protect from Voldemort personally when he chose to return to life. The Wand provided the power and The 🪨 allowed Harry to enter The in-between/KCS. This also taps into the theory that the Dumbledore Harry saw/spoke to in King's Cross Station/In-between was actually Death, Harry choosing to return to life was him not ready to greet Death as a friend, so was allowed to return to life, etc... I do like the Peverall brothers parallel between Dumbledore(Wand), Snape(🪨), and Harry(Cloak) though

I still don't agree that James Potter should have been a Gryffindor. It's easy to be loyal and brave to your friends. He was just a stereotypical bully. And so were the rest of the Marauders, apparently...

Oh please, bullying isn't a trait of any of the four houses. Bullies can be in all houses (although it is pretty hard for a bully to be in Hufflepuff).

Hey quick question, or I'm not sure if this is a theory but maybe someone here can answer it for me? We know about Isolt Sayre, who was a Gaunt on her mother's side, and Tom/Voldemort was a Gaunt on his mother's side too, and since Isolt came to America in the 1600s and had a family of her own would it be plausible at all that Tom has a secret and hidden distant cousin/relation living in America? It just dawned on me.

Harry shouldn't have been able to snap the Elder Wand with his hands???? You know it was made of wood, right? Furthermore, what's the difference between snapping a wand in half and casting the One Ring into the fires of Mount Doom? Both are very simple physical actions. It's the temptation of power that causes people to not want to destroy both items. For Harry to snap the wand in half without a moment's hesitation proves that Harry is one of the greateat heroes ever depicted. He did the most heroic thing anyone can do, he rejected power! And the act was much more symbolic and made much more logical sense than putting the wand back in Dumbledore's tomb, where anyone could steal it again and gain its power simply by physically overpowering Harry.

Cedric didn't die on hogwarts grounds. Also he was technically of age as well. I will say I doubt that theory only because if that was there they wouldn't of need the age restriction on the goblet of fire.

Can you explain how Voldemort can ally with dementors? He can’t produce a patronous so he can’t counter them. Why would they follow him and not just kill him and reap havoc on the rest of the people.

Harry WAS the Master of Death. Harry was also protected by Lily's sacrifice. And Harry was the master of the Elder Wand. Voldemort couldn't kill him by the Black Wand nor by any other. But the piece of Riddle's soul inside Harry wasn't protected by those charms. That's why Voldemort destroyed his own, unintentional Horcrux.

I think there is possibility that Albus Dumbledore have requested Professor Snape to wait until the snake kept under protective magic, and then tell Harry that he himself is a Horcrux. Didn't he did this on purpose for many reason including the reason to reveal the truth about Snape, how and why protected Harry and why did Snape killed Dumbledore. What you think? There would have been other options to let Harry know about the truth, why only Snape should be the one to tell this Do you think Dumbledore would have been relied on single person who was in continuous contact with Voldemort and has lot of chances to die, to reveal this much important information to harry

Harry was the master of death because in the limbo scene of deathly hallows Dumbledore tells him that and Harry survived the killing curse because voldemort had his blood and that anchored him to life. Harry snapping the wand was a stupid decision by the director because the scene in the book was a lot better but by then they really weren't using the books for reference any more.

Isn't there a theory out there that voldemort could only hit his horcrux with the killing spell because Harry was the elder wands master, and wands cannot kill their owners?
