They do not worship the rock, the shrine is the grave of an Arab prophet named Hud. And the scholars have been gathering at that rock for hundreds of years. There are 2 main visits every year in which the scholars, students and general public gather to be reminded of their purpose of life the eternal message of all the prophets to be better people by obeying God’s commands and following the way of the prophets of God. So yeah definitely no worshipping rocks. I lived in tareem for many years and attended these gatherings. Lastly thank you for this report I really enjoyed it.

This was the policy of former President Saleh and the Yemeni Congregation for Reform Party (the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen). South Yemen is like South Korea like life and respect others lives and wanna provide something for the other societies whereas North Yemen like North Korea just like to kill the lives of others and like to fight and make life a piece of hell. This is the easiest definition from which you can understand the difference between the Two Yemens

The Yemen you and your guide are showing us looks just stunningly beautiful. *Watched the whole video now.. You can just feel the load behind what the last man you interviewed was saying. Not so much even WHAT he told us but the feeling he transmitted really got to me. Something about watching your videos help me put life into perspective. Its like I can handle anything when I'm continually reminded that any problem I may have is incomparably minuscule to the struggles so many people are facing daily in parts of the world like Yemen and so many other places. You are doing amazing work with your platform and you use your platform responsibly. Thank you

It's really refreshing to see Yemen represented in this way, with you on the ground, talking to people, visiting landmarks, learning about daily life. Most often we have few insights into what it's like in this part of the world, and what we do see is warped by news cameras that only want to show the worst of the worst and talk about conflict. It's a beautiful country full of friendly people and has such a vibrant culture, the side that gets forgotten about when all the coverage is of war and crisis. Of course those things are integral to life there at the moment, but the underlying humanity can be forgotten. Thankyou so much for travelling the world and bringing us reality, representing the people, and reminding us that anywhere you go in the world, we're all human and we have more in common than we don't. Amazing work and so important!

How sad. I loved this country and its people so much. When I first arrived in Yemen, 20 L of petrol was around 20 Rials. 1 USD was approx. equivalent to 10 Rials then. When I left 10 years later, 20 L cost around 400 Rials. Now I read 12000 Rials. The whole economy started sliding down the gutter right after the first Gulf War. This whole mess started because of Sadam's madness, US's recklessness and Ali Abdellah Saleh's foolishness. The ones that paid the price: the ordinary people. The ultimate revenge the Gulf states did to Yemen by throwing out the Yemeni work force. Unfair and sad.

I usually don't leave comments on videos but I was called to respond and correct. You were in the valley of Prophet Hud, the shrine you dined in was part of his grave. And no, the people there don't worship "the sacred rock" or do a pilgrimage there, they only worship one God. The city of Tarim are filled with the descendants of the Prophet Muhammad, hence there are many scholars and saints living within that city. You are so blessed.
