This particular beauty is one of the best if not THE best designed, tiny houseboat I have seen so far. Being an Architect I can appreciate the well thought out layout, simple yet elegant lines and clever planning how all the vitals are neatly packed into ultra compact shape but not leaving one feeling anyway cramped - quite an opposite! Truly wonderful creation and very reasonable cost so amazing, affordable and smart way of living (off grid)!

Looks very ikea on water but i do like it...fine for inner canal and river use. I would almost re use upper deck for some thing else as seems a wasteful of space.. just a bit too many windows for a security secure feeling in public areas,but i gather the dutch are more respectful of people private property ?

#TioZorro Because it's just for the holidays, all year round it's harder to live. I stayed 6 months on a boat, it's much better on an ocean liner, there is more space... but i loved sleeping with the movement of the waves that rock us... wow...:)

Yes there are several and they run the spectrum from basic to extravagant. Electronics alone can cost a fortune but if you are not going to travel anywhere you do not know they are not a necessity. However, in my opinion Radar or at least a Camera for night vision and fog would be recommended if going to travel any distance. Radar is probably cheaper than a good night vision camera. You can get some very expensive boat in even that size range Easily find they for 500K and up but they also make them that are more reasonable depending on what you call reasonable...lol

The Metroship from Balinger & company is something you may like. It's sold in the US for $250,000 new. I have seen used ones in good condition for sale for $120,000. They are basic but nice looking. At least to me.
