Yo! I had to come back after a day to say thank you for this man! This is the only method that worked. I tried everything else. I almost gave up and believed i needed to use the annoying sony triangle. I have the A6500 and this works easily. Thanks again!!! Wow. A 5 year old video still relevant in 2024!!!❤❤❤

Can't thank you enough for this video!! Had totally given up on fitting these through my RX100 VII eyelets, which didn't come with triangles. Was honestly really mad because the product photos for the peak design leash appear to show the thinner V3 loops, and I'd carefully examined those pictures before concluding they would work with my camera...

They were discontinued shortly after release because there were few cases of cord failure, so they went back to thick cord. And it applies to every of their strap after 2018 I believe.

Nice! I am using one of the triangles because I'm using the grip on my a6400. Fortunately, the grip is sturdy enough to keep the triangle from flapping around. But your technique worked really well on the other side. Thanks for sharing this!

Can you just buy the anchors themselves? without the strap they give you .(ie) to connect your own camera strap?
@robwasnj9 ай бұрын
This worked on my Sony A7R3 but does not on my Sony A1. I even tried braided fishing line which is super strong and thin, the anchor rope is simply too thick to make it through the eyelets. Would be really nice if PD made anchors that would fit through or another design, many one that only needed one side of the rope passed through. This really ruins the beauty of the PD system for me on newer sony cameras.
@wuiruewhfasbasdkjf8 ай бұрын
I believe the newer Alpha series cameras have slightly smaller eyelets, which causes this. I've just managed to get the thick PD anchors through the eyelets on my A7IV by 'pre-crushing' the anchor's loop with a pair of pliers, just to flatten it out as much as possible before attempting to thread it through. Then, carry on as he does in the video by threading the floss or fishing line (I managed to get it done with some floss eventually) through, but don't just pull it. You need to apply a constant pulling pressure on one side (not enough pressure to tear the floss, about 20% less pressure than that) and keep turning the anchor clockwise/anticlockwise about 90 degrees each way repeatedly to help ease the anchor through. After a minute or so of doing this, you'll have pulled through enough of the anchor that there will be 3-4mm protruding from the other side. Use some pliers to carefully grab it (don't grip them firmly enough to fray the anchor's insulation) and use the same constant pulling and twisting motion with the pliers, and you'll be able to pull enough through that you can then loop something through it (a screwdriver or Allen key) and finally pull it through. It's very difficult and I think it's inevitable that you WILL damage the anchors to an extent (both of mine are showing a small amount of yellow) but they appear to be sturdy and I found the whole ordeal to be worth it. Good luck

Thanks. Worked for my fujifilm after it pulled through the metal inserts
@Amaroid557 Жыл бұрын
Tried this on a Fuji X-T3 which has very similar attachment points, but the only thing that happened is that the anchor got so damaged at the bend that I can see the yellow beneath. "Replace if yellow inner core becomes visible!", the instructions say. Bummer.
@davidwallace8980 Жыл бұрын
I used a piece of small gauge copper wire to pull the cord through. This allows you to use pliers in the normal way grabbing the copper wire and pulling. I just found this post today. I think that If you have the copper wire available it is a easier way to do this.

Just got my Sony A7IV Tried this with the floss doubled up. Also tried with a steel wire. Both attempts didn't work. The floss and wire broke. It looks like they've made the eye even smaller on the IV. The front of it is visibly smaller than the back. Not sure what version of the anchors I have, but they're a couple years old at least. FYI.

My floss is a sensitive one, so I did it with my solution: I crushed the tip to be thin enough using pliers and fed it in with the same tool and pulled it from the other side with the same tool. It was just as easy. Only tool I used was pliers.

Do i destroy those tiny holes, because peak design anchor v4 is thicker than the hole.. I put it threw and everything is secure.. But overtime does it destroy those metal things Edit: and it does not flop because is thicker.. If it was size that goes threw easily, of course it will flop

Will this work on the a6600. I took off the triangles off, but I'm unable to get the PD v4 anchors into the camera eyelets? The floss breaks off. Any tips? I am not sure how I'm going to get those triangles back on. Also, can the anchors damage eyelets over time?

Tried with different generations of anchors (not sure which is which, they are all mixed in a box). None of them could get through the holes of the A7C. I think I'm returning to the triangles. Did you find a way to do it?
@KorbenWilkinson11 ай бұрын
For anybody with the a7 IV the string is way too big for the small holes where the metal strap rings would normally go, you will have to put it on to the metal strap rings
