I love Dr. Delony! I also started focusing more on how I feel when I consistently workout vs. how I look. This has shifted my mindset and made it easier to return to the gym after missing a week … or 3 weeks. And when I’m feeling really crappy, I now make sure I go to the gym instead of falling back into my old habit of drinking or impulse shopping. I’m starting to see improvement in my physique, which is a plus.

John's discussion with Graham about how "scarcity" feeds a numbing out on reality and G's explanation of today's numbers that would make him feel safe - priceless. Generosity is the ultimate prepper tool. ... at about 50-min mark Dr. Delony does such a god job of explaining how the greatest way to prepare for the worst situation is to develop a tribe of people you can count on when things get hard. ... Make yourself useful, build a strong family, integrate into a positive supporting community.
@elnegritolamar4689
@elnegritolamar4689 4 ай бұрын
I think he was emphasizing that being a part of strong community will benefit more than have 50 mil in the bank if ish hits the fan. His main point was the best way to prepare for the worst is to not worry about it. He used the example of his banker friend who said "he will worry about it when it happens." I agree though being a part of a strong community you can trust is worth it's weight in gold.

Great conversation. One reason I didn't go to the gym was being pressured into being a muscle man and taking all the supplements. Now I'm going to a gym where I'm allowed to exercise to feel better. I remember times when my parents would have problems. My mother finally learned to drive. My father would say they didn't have the money to do something they needed to do and then she would show him the budget, then things were ok. Working through the misunderstandings and helping my mother develop as a partner. We were a one car family. Seeing my parents interactions has developed me into being an encourager.

In marriage you should start by combining 10-20% of your incomes in a joint account. You will need this for bills , etc anyway. Then as the years go by, increase that slowly, and stop at whatever number you both feel comfortable with. Overtime, as you deepen the trust in your marriage, I think you’ll find both people start to feel more comfortable with the option they didn’t like at first. You may end up sharing everything or you may end up sharing only 25%. But I think it helps you organically get to your best place as you build trust over time. This is what my wife and I do .

Love the camera editing of the extreme close-ups of Jack's hair every time it gets mentioned 😂

"How do you get over that?" (scarcity mindset). A lot of people who grew up middle/lower income saw and felt the fear but never really experienced rock bottom. They only grew up on the fear and scent of a financial predator over the hill. Rock bottom (in USA) is utilities cut, begging for food cash, bouncing checks, eviction, etc and this rock bottom is not experienced by most middle/lower, "we were sooooo poor when I grew up" types like John describes the groceries. So how does the middle/lower man get over the fear - he needs to realize that at my definition of rock bottom you still live and life still goes on and opportunities still exist. The financial bro epidemic and scarcity/anxiety masses came from middle/lower people who caught scent of rock bottom but never actually experienced it. If they did they wouldn't be so cowardly with their money and so boring to be around.

I feel like I was built for this environment , I feel like people are in bad situations cuz they were raised with no guidance , if it wasn't bad guidance , I feel like we should step in before it gets really bad cuz thats a issue that continues to spread , most of my success is because of me, but id be silly to say without my grandpa and a few older guys I would be the same person no Id be a nobody broke sad and lonely without their guidance, they put me on the path

ThIs whole interview, and what a current state of plummeting birth, and marriage rates, gender division, single parent families, and rates of loneliness, there were some proper wisdom in the last half an hour. Dr. Delony definitely got some new fans. That Nicolas Cage, Téa Leoni movie FAMILY MAN kept popping into my head. But instead of Don Cheadle’s character, it was this guy.

Definitely hard to ignore all the negative our there, but I agree it was a great interview and one of Delony's better interviews.
