Love this take, this can apply to small growing companies as well!

As my psychologist said: Do it first (follow the process) and get motivated later :)

Interesting story. Many times we want to win the “Super Bowl” and focus on winning, what we don’t realize is every other team loses. And even winners rarely win the next year. We need to focus on other metrics that are meaningful. Continuous improvement metrics are great but get old. Show me the North Star to keep me motivated. Another take on this talk could be as described below… The North Star sounded like to me. “I find and build great teams, a team that loves to work together and delivers quality work that over achieves in delivering value throughout the organization.” Your value proposition if continuing to build this team sounds like If you don’t have meaning , or if you want a team that you can count on then you want to be on my team. We will coach you to deliver business value, so you can do this as a leader in the firm. Assuming you train the team to repeat this process, then why not release the team members so they can continue the mission. Make this a ground swelling mission built from the ground up? You don’t need validation from the C-Suite, you could build this one employee and former team member at a time.
