1. Frame the problem at hand and clearly articulate it. 2. Once you have clearly articulated it, step back and allow the problem to turn over in your mind. 3. Obey your curiosity. 4. Also do things that don't interest you. A lot of tasks that begin as a chore often end as an insight. 5. Keep a shoebox or something similar to store your experiences and revisit it often. 6. Invite uncomfortable conversations. 7. When you feel creativity hit, stop whatever you are doing and focus on it.

Creativity on demand, a task of great strain To produce on command, to engage the brain But creativity is not just a gift or a whim It's a skill to hone, like a muscle in the gym To tap into your creativity, you must first believe That the act of creation is something you can achieve Your mind is a wellspring of inspiration and thought It's up to you to draw from it, and let your ideas be brought The next step is to remove all barriers in your way Be open to all possibilities, let your mind play Don't judge or censor your ideas, let them flow free Even if they seem silly or impractical, just let them be Immerse yourself in the process, let your mind wander Embrace the unknown, don't let your mind squander Inspiration can strike at any moment, at any time So be open and ready, let your creativity shine In the end, creativity on demand is not impossible With practice and belief, it can be quite remarkable So go forth and create, let your ideas run wild For creativity on demand is not just a fable, but a style.

I got recommended this now. Huh. Interesting. I'd probably go for "Do things that don't interest you." It seems the most useful.

Grenny's tips for creative ideas Frame the problem at hand Obey your curiousity Do things that do not interest you Keep a shoebox to store your experiences Invite uncomfortable conversations Focus on creativity when it hits

The problem at hand, not a mystery, Obey your curiosity, let it lead the way, Things that do not interest you, give it a chance, Experiences stored in a shoebox, await the day. Uncomfortable conversations, they do arise, Embrace them, the creativity may surprise, And when it hits, like lightning from the skies, Focus on it, let your imagination rise. Grenny's tips, oh Grenny, we thank you, For creativity on demand, they ring true, Innovative ideas, they can come from anywhere, It's up to us, to be open and aware.

Obey your curiosity... this is something I always try to do, and it works. Thanks for sharing.

Follow your curiosity and do things you just like, not only for practical reasons. It can help you make more connections with different stuff, which can help you become more creative. I really like these ideas.

All of this implicitly implies also being open. To ideas, to advice, to details, to experiences. So, how to learn to be open?

The Heart of a Wolf (by Emmanuel Matuco) 2023 February 27 (updated version) Howl me a song o majestic wolf O howl me a haunting song. Pour your heart out, your pain On the boulder where you stand to the disk, so white in its fullness Pour your heart out unto the darkness enfolding as I have poured mine. The trails of what we’ve done though they were lost and swallowed by the stillness of these pines they still live in the darkness of our past and memories. And they will always give us light. It will shine in our eyes It will pierce the darkness enfolding And the song you howled that battled the darkness will echo back to where we are It will guide us once more through trails that lits up through the trails we thought were lost back to the glen where we buried our ancestors And there, amidst the ruins of dreams bequeathed we’ll rebuild and once again soar. Soar! Soar with our howls and cries Soar, till all the notes will sparkle like stars And the pines and the forest will shiver with gladness and the melody will chase away the gloom. And the pain that held us back And the fears that always haunted us before will be no more. So howl me a song once again o majestic wolf Howl me a song from your heart Into the wilderness again, where freedom awaits Our footsteps will be hope-filled Our tracks will be joy-filled We… are the children of the wild. www.linkedin.com/in/emmanuelmatuco

I'm sure the overall narrative of this video is well-meaning, but the example used is a bit problematic. So if I heard you right, Grenny (an American?) went over to Kenya to offer self help on poverty eradication when he had absolutely ZERO experience on the subject? Very telling.

Predictably creative?! Confusing creativity with problem solving or thinking or calculation. And best selling author is hawking another book? Meh.
