While I may not normally agree with Justice Jackson’s record, politics aside, she is such an intelligent and articulate justice! Nice to see her in her element showing how it’s done!!
@prometheusrex14 күн бұрын
I'm surprised she didn't talk her head off the entire time--with record-setting verbosity among all justices--as she does from the SCOTUS bench.

@@jjjackson4402 Adam Feldman, Supreme Court scholar and creator of the EmpiricalSCOTUS blog, reported that Jackson spoke more than any other justice on the high court during arguments for the 2022 term. During that term, "She spoke more than 78,800 words, which is also the most for a first-term justice during arguments since 1990."

@@prometheusrex1 what is a scotus justice paid to do but be articulate and thoughtful...? Why are you being weird about her genuinely exceptional stats from her peers...?
@prometheusrex14 күн бұрын
@@jjjackson4402 Because one of the first rules of effective appellate practice is to be well-thought-out BEFOREHAND so that your questions and arguments are CONCISE. To instead be record-setting in your verbosity reflects embarrassing unprofessionalism.

I’m trying to picture Judge Judy questioning other attorneys in an appellate setting, but can’t see it. She’s good at chewing out pro se litigants or small claims, but I think she may meet her match with those who have legal backgrounds.
