I was stationed at Webb AFB from 1973 to 1977 as an instructor pilot. I was a maintenance test pilot and spent time in that hangar. The picture of the two airplanes in red white and blue, if you look closely, you will see me in the cockpit.

I was born and raised in Carlsbad, New Mexico. I do hope you enjoyed your visit but (as much as I loved growing up there) I wish I'd known you were headed there in advance. I would have warned you about the traffic. IT'S TERRIBLE! We have a huge petroleum boom going on right now so for a city whose roads were basically built for a population of 20-30 thousand people, there are EIGHTY thousand in the town on any given day now. (Most are staying in hotels/motels, 5th-wheels and trailers on RV and/or simply empty lots and in new apartment housing. When the oil industry goes bust there it will probably end up looking like a ghost town. Yet another great video guys...

Born and raised in Ft Worth, Tx but live in PA now. Man I miss it. B-52 cockpit musta been cool. My dad worked for the FAA, so I actually went to high school in La. he worked on Barksdale AFB, home of 8Th Air Force. So many B-52’s, KC-135’s flying around the clock. Love it. Guess that’s why I never had trouble sleeping on the carrier lol. Thanks for sharing.

I hear ya.. I used to take quick naps in the catwalk during flight ops. One time, though, we were berthed right under the 3 wire. First trap of the day (I worked nights) would scare the sh*t out of me.. then I'd sleep through the rest.

We had our grandchildren with us on this part of our travels and when we told them that we where staying at a museum they grumbled a bit. After we went in and they saw what was there they where crazy excited and the loved playing in the B-52. The host there was exceptionally nice and we had a great visit. Glad you where able to stop there as well. And you are right they have plenty of close by parking.

After watching your video I’d like you to know it totally cinched it for me. My husband has been open to the idea for quite some time now and it was a hard decision more so for me because of leaving the farm animals behind. So we sold off the herd of cows and slimed down the amount of horses we normally kept around and now it’s just the massive chore on choosing the best way for us to travel. I love watching where your travels take you and thank you for the wonderful amount of information you provide all the while keeping it fun and entertaining.

Changing Lanes I really loved that coach you looked at down in Florida. The Tiffin. 45 foot all white cabinets? 430.000 price tag? You talked with a gentleman you called Bama? Would you happen to have any idea where I could find him and see if that coach might be available and where we could go to actually tour it in person? He seems very nice and extremely knowledgeable. Even if it’s something we graduated to in a year? It’s a bit overwhelming to think about paying that kind of money and finding out you despise it! 😳☺️☺️

Question about overnighting. Do you need to unhook the rig and level it out or do you stay hooked with the levelers up. I'm sure this is a stupid question
@ChangingLanes5 жыл бұрын
No such thing as a stupid question! 😊 We generally stay hooked up for over-nighters when we have room for it. Makes for easy departure the next day. When we do this, I will level manually, taking care to not put any odd stress on the hitch (no side/side or lifting). Works great as long as we're already fairly level. Thanks for watching! 😃

When u are at HH do u put jacks down, level, run generator, and unhitch? Stupid questions but I’m new and we don’t have any solar. Just a house battery.
@ChangingLanes5 жыл бұрын
When we just do a quick overnight stay, we generally stay hooked up when we have room for it. Makes for easy departure the next day. If we are already fairly level, I will use the Lippert hydraulic leveler system and level manually, taking care to not put any odd stress on the hitch (no side/side or lifting). I just use the phone app from the outside so I can keep an eye on everything. We'll run the generator during the day and use the inverter at night. We don't have solar yet either. Before boondocking, you'll likely want to upgrade the battery bank depending on weather. Even though the furnace uses propane, it uses DC to power the blower and that can suck battery power pretty quick. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching! 😃
