I'm late to the party but this is how I felt about playing Harvestella for the first time. Thanks to Square Enix for providing me with a free pre-release copy! I'm so happy that I can continue exploring this game even more now and share my thoughts and ideas with you lovely people.

I completely agree! For the farming, I think it does get easier to control once you have leveled up tools that let you cover bigger areas. It also gets more interesting with the other biomes, more makers, etc! It also looks like the game is quite lengthy and the more I play, the more I love it!

Maybe it could change other players' minds, if they gave it a chance for a bit longer. Too bad that the demo doesn't show off Harvestella's full potential! But you give me so much hope rn! Will definitely keep (binge-)playing a lot more and discover this myself.😍 Thanks for letting me know❣

Great review! I totally agree with you. Despite having some flaws, it hasn't stopped me from enjoying this game! It also has so much content, which really surprised me. The further you progress through the game, the more interesting it gets too!

Excellent review! My only real complaints about Harvestella is that it's still very blurry in handheld, lack of voice acting, and that the amazing soundtrack cannot be purchased outside of Japan 😡!

Thank you so much 😭💖💖 I totally agree!! Handheld-mode feels rough. But I guess it's real damn hard to have any decently looking game run well on the Switch. We need a better Nintendo console tbh 🤣 And the sheer amount of game merch exclusive to Japan is incredible 😭. I wish they made soundtracks and artbooks more accessible to the international audience. I'm sure it'd sell well 🙏

I've seen a ton of reviews saying things like, "there is to little farming, no voice acting, days are to short, clunky combat etc". When I started getting into life/farming sims I hated that-in the ones I played and enjoyed-there wasn't much of a story, no adventure aspect, no combat. This game is everything I've wanted in a life/farming sim. With that I still recognize flaws that hope to see changed but ultimately I want this game to open doors to more and better games like it. What do I hate so far: 1) planted crops show about 4 per plot but the yield is only 1. I hope we get an update/item/skill that increases yield. 2)the fairy voices get annoying when using their skills. I wish we have a voice setting for that specifically. 3)I wish there was a healer class cause we take so much damage and with selling all my crops, can't make a lot of food lol 4)kinda wish the mount was available in dungeons for faster travel 5) I would love voice acting cause I was mind blown when I heard a characters combat/adventure dialog and it was different than what I imagined lol 6) I wish there was cutscene skiping cause there is some quests that I don't care for and just want to get it done asap without watching/reading the cutscenes.

I love the mix of RPG and life sim x) But I agree with all of the critical points you've mentioned! If they polished the game juuust a tiny bit more, it'd be perfect for me hehe

great review cloudy you took the words out of my mouth. yeah aside from a few minor issues i'm really enjoying what i've played so far. i give square hell a lot for thier way of doing things 😅😅 but they make great games , and they hit a homerun with this one. looking forward to the full review.

Totally agree with this. I really like the game, but it is a bit flawed. I think it's important to realize, whereas most games in this genre are farming life Sims with RPG elements, this is an RPG with farming life sim elements. It's an RPG first. However, I am already really liking the game, and appreciate the fact they are patching things so quickly!

I feel like many players don't fully realize that Harvestella is essentially an RPG. I assume that's why they are disappointed that it doesn't feel anything like a classic farming sim. And since the developer in question is Square Enix, I bet the fanbase's expectations also went through the roof🤣 Honestly mad props to the team for patching it so quickly! I just finished the story yesterday. Obviously won't spoil anything! Good video. Indeed the male options are... Well... Terrible sadly. As for the dialog, the lack of voice acting in more spots would be total game changer. The limited voices we can get in combat and when visiting NPCs to hear their voices was just a tease. gameplay! I don't have much to add about farming, it works. But combat? I can see people not used to it suffer greatly. I appreciate the more in depth options vs say Rune Factory, and the much better visuals, but it can be brutal. Time pacing felt great now however! I never felt I didn't have time to do what I wanted to do. Socializing; looking forward to talk to someone about that. Does it show I have no one else to talk to about this game 😂

And thank you for tuning in here x) I'm ok with having limited customization options, but what's the point of offering male, female and non-binary gender options... and then all three look female anyways? 😂 I hope they're gonna make a sequel of some sorts and add voice acting 🥺 It was indeed an odd choice to only hear the character voices outside of the story dialogues. Glad to hear that you liked the pace! I feel the same! 🤗 Many people still seem to think it's too fast paced though. Ohhh I want to get to the socializing, asap too!! I'm sure soon you'll have people to talk about it hahah And no worries ;) You can write down your thoughts here as much as you like! 🤭

They could have changed the males hair to fit his sex as of right now there is almost no difference in that model and just feels cheap
