Harvesting and Planting Nepenthes Seeds

Hey Everyone,
I wanted to share a basic video for planting Nepenthes seeds. In this video, I'll show you how I collect and sow Nepenthes seed. It's extremely easy as long as you follow a couple basic guidelines. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions!

A suggestion for another video - maybe talk about the size of the plants from roughly a small size to mature plant that flowers and like the time frame it takes for different species to progress. Maybe angled for beginners that don’t have a greenhouse (yet) and have them on a window sill 🙂

I love the work that you're doing you have no idea.. you might.. when you go Nepenthes or any Carnivorous Plant CRAZY you realize no other plant makes you feel more accomplished. 💚 Still love Caletheas(Goeppertia) All Prayer Plants but Nepenthes are the Juiciest!

I have a couple pod things coming out like beans on my nepenthes. It’s separate from the flower. They look like seeds. I didn’t pollinate or anything. I just leave my collection of nepenthes outside on my patio in bright dappled sun. They do very well. The huge one I have has tripled in size from when I rescued it from Home Depot. What I mean by rescue, it was in horrible condition. I harvested some of those seed things. They come right off the pod thing. Is there any way I can email you to show you photos? I want to plant and grow nepenthes, I just don’t know if that’s a seed pod? Or another flower coming out. Help!!! Thanks btw 😅

Hey Kerwin, that should be ok. Bright and warm, without cooking them. They don’t need a ton of light to sprout. Mainly warmth and humidity:)

My seeds have been sown over 100 days ago... I don't think they were very viable. You should make a vlog!!

Some can take up to 8 months:) be patient. Sometimes the seed just isn’t good also.

Live Sphagnum moss culture tutorial or specific species care

We can do one on sphagnum:) The sphagnum mainly grows in our pots and on some benches. We don’t really propagate it. It gets the care and conditions as the Neps. There’s a few different species here and honestly not sure which ones. Some from other growers and other countries lol Thanks!
