The older bigger berries are handplucked. The berries need to be plucked before fully ripen. Berries from each bunch are separated either manually or by using machines. Berries are dipped in hot water for 1 minute and then sundried.

(btw people complaining about the feet, the vast majority of dried spices are heated before packaging to pasteurized them and remove bacteria, obviously they aren't going directly from their feet to your plate, stop being babies)

People confuse peppers and chilies. Jalapenos, habaneros, and such like that are NOT peppers, they are chilies. The plant you see in the video is a pepper plant.
