I was fortunate at the time to have a dad who understood the task and stepped up. And a community who also helped guide and nurture my sister and I. But my favourite thing I remember of mums, as a professional horticulturist 'Life is like a garden with lots of different flowers and plants. Our family, come from one set but we grew and changed, we took cuttings and we cross pollinate and every time there is a new plant it's a bit stronger, less likely to get hit by pests and disease. I have always loved dried flowers and have several books about them from the 80's and such. Love them and thrilled that they're returning to greater public notice. I have bunches of white and mandarin orange gomphrena & copper red strawflowers hanging to dry. Cannot wait to use them in a wreath or something. Oh, one of my favorite books is 'The Book of Pressed Flowers, A Complete Guide to Pressing, Drying and Arranging' by Penny Black, 1988 edition. So inspiring.

Hi Laura & Aaron, When I first started to watch your channel (thank you because you will never know how much you have helped me) the land around you had tumbleweed in them and I remember them rolling around everywhere. My question: Laura you mentioned how you are not going to do much to your new-new property, will this new land grow tumbleweed? Love your videos, our temperature has gone back up (never mind what the weather app etc says) and I have noticed so many tender flowers have gone crispy. Some places in the uk 🇬🇧 have hose pipe bans and I’m praying we don’t get banned. We are due to have some low temperatures, so I now feel your pain regarding temperature. Love to you all, especially your mum. I know I’m late but; I love your mum in your videos because she is so happy and funny. My favourite video of your mum is where she was supposed to be recording you reversing the truck. But she was recording herself, oh my goodness that still makes me laugh 😆. I love the foraging for foliage and having a picnic, and always love the videos where you both go antiquing. Question: What’s one of Susan’s favourite video of you both? I know I’m late in submitting my question.

Rubber bands are best for hanging so as they dry they don't fall as they shrink.

I always use rubber bands to bind my flower stems together. They shrink as they dry. The statise is beautiful.

Hi Laura! The drying rack turned out really nice. I agree that you need one on the other side, too. One between the hutches would look good, too. I hope your Mom can help make the wreaths. It's always fun seeing her in videos. Thank you so much for sharing!

What a fun project! Over the winter, I was meaning to make more natural wood garden structures this year, and I have barely done any of them with the rush of the growing season. Good inspiration!

❤️I was honored to be asked to make heart shaped ❤️wreathes from my daughter in laws statice garden , for my son’s wedding! So easy to form because of the gentle arching curve of the blooms. ❤️

Hi Laura, cute idea you could also hang an old ladder from the ceiling plus you can sit baskets on top of the ladder for more storage . Love all you do, love the calm your videos bring to this hectic world. 😊❤

Something different done today. Very interesting. I like the back of the property too, and having a small stream of water is always a delight. But make it safe for the kids, by installing a high fence.....even for adults, who may misstep and fall. Thank you for this beautiful video.

Do you have snakes in your area? I’m from alabama, and my heart was racing watching you knowing there was cool water and overgrown vegetation! We have snakes, alligators, spiders!

Personally, I'd be more worried about ticks and poison ivy. She's talked about having garter snakes and black widows. That's all. There's definitely no gators in Oregon.

My parents are from Alabama, by Mobile and we would see snake crossing signs on the road. There was one by the church and yes we saw snakes there crossing the road . Big really big.

I can do that! I’ve been hanging flowers in my dining room from the chandelier 😁 this is so much better! I have been collecting statice from the grocery store flowers I buy but never thought of making a wreath with it. I need to grow it next year 👍🏻. 😊

Love this project and made me feel like I could do this too! I've seen this on pinterest but just shrugged it off, but that is exactly why I love watching your channel. You somehow give me the confidence to tackle things I otherwise wouldn't have. And statis is definitely on my seed buying list for next year! 😍 P.s. you totally helped me out with a project I have going on showing those toggle bolts lol thanks!

Oh my goodness I love that drying rack. Laura you’re a genius. I do have a question. Is there poison ivy or anything like it that grows on the new property in the woods? I’ve never heard you say anything about poison vines. Your enthusiasm is infectious. You motivate my creative side and I thank you for that. AARON, You have done such a wonderful job with your grass. I noticed when Laura walks across it she leaves foot prints as if walking on plush carpet . Your family is a joy.
