Unpopular opinion, but I found the ANA forces reasonably realistic and useful in the game, provided they played a supporting role - use their artillery and helicopters for support, and the infantry as cannon fodder and FOB security in the hope that they become experienced enough to stand up to the Taliban. ...and then sure enough, the coalition withdraws, they become responsible for their own security, and the Taliban pretty much steamroll them because you haven't got any reliable troops to carry them. Just like real life :(

I like what this game has to offer and the premise of it, but i think it needs some work mechanically to be abit smoother an easier to play, even though it seems designed to be difficult. Building improvements for villages is fun and building roads and such. But it feels like there should be more, but im not sure of what. Like maybe base improvements like Guard outposts to fight off taliban or MG emplacements perhaps. Maybe giving Towns their own policeforce to report on IEDs or ANA barracks to act as AI allies to fight Taliban but with sometimes a chance to turn into defectors. Honestly though i would love to see a mod of this game where you are in the US/near Innsmouth trying to fight off a Deep One insurgency or other Lovecraftian cults.

Just so you know Rimmy, one of the missions the Militia units do is plant IEDs. They'll move to the nearest road (or sometimes other hexes), plant an IED, and then immediately disband. That's why you get IEDs on roads you build.

I was playing this game before and there were these 2 isolated villages in the mountain and the Taliban loved to plant ieds literally all around the village so I’d just have an MI8 fly over, drop infantry into the village, mine sweep, and then watch like 6 ieds go off all around the village

Great plan for farming ieds for money. As for caves, I saw militants appear on map without walking track marks on map so you can kind of tell where militant caves are even if it is a guessing game. A Moab dropped random sky could probably take out one cave per drop I guess.
