Never seen peanuts stored in a bin then loaded onto trailers. You guys do it different than we do in Florida. Good to see more peanut farmers on KZbin!
@conleybanman4 жыл бұрын
Yes sir it sure is a lot different. I’ve seen some of your videos and out there in Florida it doesn’t really look like you’d have much room to move the peanut bin from field to field

@@conleybanman we have one Colombo 6 row peanut picker on a good day we can pick 25 acres we are about done now we have 33 acres left then we are going to hire our cotton picked. We have had a bad harvest peanut harvest this year we are normally done by now we where a week behind this year it has been raining like crazy here we finally had a dry spell so we can get out there in the field we have lost a good bit of peanuts because we are a week behind digging them. But we are at our last irrigated peanut field now harvesting.
@conleybanman4 жыл бұрын
Well at least it’s gettin done now. Around here we just got a very hard freeze and there’s still quite a few farmers that still have peanuts in the ground so I guess it’s been a tough year for all farmers

Mile long rows, WOW!! When planting, are y’all able to go to the other end without filling up?

With peanuts we can make it to the other end and half way back but with cotton seeds because they are smaller it’s works way better
@jackweeks80994 жыл бұрын
Conley Banman you can go forever with cotton seeds it seems like, but peanut seed is a different story. Planting was the first thing that came to mind when I read “mike long rows”!

Interesting to see this harvest. Big difference from the grains of North Dakota. I would have thought it would have been like beets or potatoes. I did try peanuts once, just at the end of one of our fields.(like a 50 x 50 area where the trucks got parked and packed the ground too much) and well they grew and produced, but I have no idea how you measure yields for peanuts...nor what do I do with them up here.
@conleybanman4 жыл бұрын
Yea it’s definitely a lot different than any other type of harvest. But I mean you could always roast them and make peanut butter😅

Do you think about AG Leader hard- and software to let your combine be steered by GPS?
@conleybanman4 жыл бұрын
Yea we’ve thought about putting gps on the combines but we’ve done it like this for so many years and works so we don’t know if it’s really necessary
@tobiastho96394 жыл бұрын
Conley Banman Why not try it out? Also having all the data can give you some feedback to probably improve things... On a corn channel they were pretty amazed and happy and said it paid for itself. Did you also talk to an expert?

@@conleybanman Hi, disappointing not having enough water for the remaining land. Especially if the soil is good for cropping. No doubt you have researched alternative water sources, ie underground water. Good luck. Are there any dry land crops you can grow I wonder?
