I planted Jalapeno's last year once they're red I waited 2 more weeks before I harvested them and yes they were hot but not overly spicy just some kick. I only got around 7 1st time. I took those seeds and saved them for this year. I am now growing 13 plants, 4 planters full of Basil +32 plants, Green Onions, Garlic, Strawberry right from seed, Mini Tomato's. Oh! I started Oregano also.

I have got some pepper seeds germinating for this year. I have my latest yt video showing all my pepper seeds which are crosses of Bell, Ramiro and Jalapeno. It's great saving your own seeds especially if you crossed them because you can enjoy the fruits them again and the seeds have some history.

What’s the channel. No disrespect to Jimmy but if yours is half as good as this one will def subscribe. This channel is simply amazing. So detailed and not boring. I’m just in awe of the skills. I can’t grow a bean plant. So much respect.

This helped me out a lot. I’m trying to harvest and grow some chili pequin seeds and wasn’t sure when the best time to get the pepper for the seeds would be. Now I have a definite answer. Thank you good sir for the helpful information. ❤❤❤🌶️🌶️🌶️

Yummo! I’m gonna crank out a 5x5 with some purple bell peppers in it. Hopefully they are as good as the peppers the seeds came in.

This test is amazing! It's clear I have been buying my pepper seeds from a grower who likes to harvest them when ripe instead of when leathery. I wonder if you could repeat the test but add some variables next time. What happens when the 3 ripeness levels are harvested from the plant but left with the fruit whole for a week? Do the ripe seeds catch up to the leathery seeds while they are ripening off the plant (or does it really need to stay on the plant)? Another test variable could be how long the seeds are in storage. Are they just as viable 4 weeks after harvest from the fruit as they are 4 hours? Can the ripe/unripe seeds become more viable if they are left to dry out for a few weeks before planting? Yet another; mailing them/environmental storage conditions: If you mail seeds through USPS in the summer, are they less viable then shipping them in the winter? You will never run out of content ideas with us around

Thanks for the kind words and sharing these ideas. Love them. There's all sorts of ways to get seeds and by no means is the winner of this experiment the only method. I've actually got another video coming on this shortly, identifying/proving some of your thoughts!

Hey Jimmy! Was wondering if i could suggest a future vid. You know how efore you did the propagation races right? Well I'd love to see a cloning method comparison with ; aeroponics vs dwc vs Rockwool vs your kratky method of cloning. All with the different style of cuts you did in the first vid to still compare all of that as well, but also compare the different clone systems in themselves. Cheers

I have harvested seeds from ripe and leathery looking plants. I can get roots and leaves but none of them grow to make fruit.

this experiment needs improvement. seeds of nightshade family germinate after drying. so leathery one is closer to drying thus germinated. you should do same experiment but this time dry for 3 days or something before putting onto to wool

Be patient. If you had let those seeds dry out a couple days, it would have been different.
